Friends,
I came across this outfit on Pinterest and fell in love.
Head over heels.
Probably largely because of the green – GREEN – raglan baseball shirt with its 3/4 length sleeves. But I also like the comfy casualness of the pieces.
Love the colors of the scarf. Seems like everyone I know has this scarf but I can’t find it here in El Paso.
I have been a good girl this year, so maybe somehow it will wind up under my Christmas tree?
Love the softness of the booties.
I am guessing suede or ultra-suede or naugahyde, whatever that is.
And the jeans. I know I am 56 1/2 years old. A grandmother, for goodness sake.
And I read somewhere, somewhere that 56 year old grandmas don’t wear distressed jeans. Not even LOFT distressed jeans.
But aren’t these jeans so broken in and comfortable looking?
A long time ago, in another life time, I had a pair of jeans I distressed by scrubbing the floors of my apartment on my hands and knees. That’s distressing.
I love the mix of gold and silver jewelry. Gold tassel necklace, silver bracelets, gold and silver watch.
Isn’t this outfit just the best?
So I pinned it and thought someday I would try to replicate it.
Well, today’s the day.
I couldn’t find the exact same raglan tee so ordered something similar through Creations for Eleanor on Etsy.com. And I was able to add a snazzy monogram to my tee. (Paul was quick to point out today that I wouldn’t be able to wear this top if we ever divorced unless I married someone else whose last name begins with C.)
My jeans are from the LOFT, zipped skinnies sans distressing. Very soft as if I have worn them all but enough to put a few holes in the knees.
The scarf I wore was a bargain from Charming Charlie’s. Two for $5.00. Very gauzy and light.
My booties are Payless. Certainly not leather or suede. Likely naugahyde, whatever that is.
I don’t have a tassel necklace other than this green beaded one. Santa Lauren has offered to remedy that for me. Told you I’ve been a good girl!
And I topped the whole thing off with a navy, open-weave/almost crocheted boyfriend cardigan.
Wow, that’s a big picture of my head! But want you to see me up close and personal in all my Pin-spired glory.
With all the great outfits available on Pinterest, I feel certain I will be pin-spired again in the very near future.
If you create a pin-spired look, won’t you share it with me?
Hugs and sticky kisses,
Valerie Price
I believe those old jeans became distressed while on your hands and knees scrubbing your boyfriends floor with a broken ankle acquired while learning the proper way to fall in ice skating class you look like one stylish 58 1/2 year old!!!
