Morning Glories,
A month has passed since I first shared my 2019 Summer Bucket List, so today it is time for an update on the progress I have made. Need to print this list and get it up, front and center, on my frig so I can keep track of all I have penciled in for the season. As you will see below, I haven’t exactly set the world on fire so far.
2019 Summer Bucket List, Update 07.2019
You can read the June post revealing my summer bucket list, here. In it, I explained a little about each of the items on my list. And, if you squint or grab your readers, you might be able to make out my list in the graphic below.
Here’s my update 07.2019 with how I’ve fared on my summer bucket list so far.
Arts and Crafts
- Paint rocks to give away or take a painting class. Pending
- Take a pottery class through Falcon Pottery & Art Studio. Pending
Date Night
- Attend an outdoor music event. Pending.
- Watch fireworks. ✔️ Yuppers, on the 3rd of July after the Chihuahua’s win at Southwest University Ball Park.
- Go on a nature scavenger hunt. Pending.
- Finally plan that blessed backward date. ✔️ Why, yes, yes, we planned it and even better, we took that backward date. Guess it deserves a post of it’s own. We had a really great day!! I used the backward date for our anniversary celebration.
- Play Pictionary. Pending, maybe in Ft. Worth or with the kids once they get settled here.
Family Fun
- Snap a photo of all us girls. We will all 5 be together in a week. It has been over a year since we have all been together!! Super excited. We will get someone to take a pic of us everywhere we go and everything we do. Surely one of them will come out.
- Water fun in Ft. Worth. We have decided to go to Hawaiian Falls. Going to rent a cabana so we can enjoy a little time out of the sun.
[source]
Fitness
- Check out routes for bike ride & run for the Mighty Mujer Triathlon. Pending. There is another triathlon I have been looking at in September, Eagle in the Sun. But I don’t think I can be ready to participate in it. And maybe not even for Mighty Mujer in April. What I am working on doing is being able to swim, run and ride my bike the distances required in a triathlon. Then if I decide to try to participate in one, I can.
- Swim at night or skinny dip. Pending.
Food for the Soul
- Take donations to the animal shelter. Pending.
- Make food donations at church or pay it forward. ✔️ We donated hygiene products and cleaning supplies to our church for Project Love. Volunteers distributed 1,500 bags to the elderly. So glad that the elderly in our community were the recipients. They are so often forgotten.
Outside My Comfort Zone
- Get a custom temporary tattoo. In the works. Worked with the good folks at Momentary Tattoo to create the design below. Hope to receive it before I go to Ft. Worth. The plan is to put it on and shock my daughters with my temp tattoo.
- Shop a new store. Pending. But I did try Fashom and loved it. Check out the cute clothes in my first Fashom box, here.
- Investigate going natural. Working on it. Have had my hair cut so the highlights and gray kind of blend in better where the natural color is beginning to grow out. Ordered a deep smoky ash Expresso glaze from Madison Reed that is supposed to take away the brassiness of my highlights and add depth to black or brunette hair without covering gray. Also, bought some purple shampoo and conditioner at Sally’s to help neutralize the blonde.
Being Betty Crocker
- Bake a cobbler – hopefully peach. Pending. Not going to be able to bake a peach cobbler with peaches from our tree. Boo!! But will bake a cobbler of some sort. Love the one Penny shared, here.
- Try a new recipe for the grill. Coming up shortly. Have pinned some grill recipes on my Weight Watchers board, here. Thinking the chicken and pineapple kabobs look like a winner.
And Susie Homemaker
You might remember that the items in this category are only ‘maybes’; not going to even work on these until I know PC has a job. But a girl can dream. And I have been adding things to Pinterest for both of these projects.
- *Begin changing kitchen theme.
- *Begin freshening up the patio furniture and backyard.
So, that’s where I am. I leave for Ft. Worth on Wednesday and hope to have the very best time with all of my girls together. It’s been too long. And knock out a few of these items while we’re at it.
Your Turn
Did you put together a summer bucket list? If so, won’t you share your update, 07.2019 with us by linking-up below? Or leave a comment with an update on the activities you have planned for this season. It’s such fun to read what everyone else is up to. We can inspire each other to try new things and make this a summer to remember.
Well, Lauren and Lucia are officially El Pasoans. And Francisco will be in a few months. They have all of the stuff in the new house, but there’s still much to put away. They are a great team and have worked so hard today. I was one busy Gabba playing with and babysitting our lil miss from about 8:00 am until she finally closed her eyes about 30 minutes ago. Exhausted!!
Enjoy your Sunday, girls. Make a special memory, do something that makes you happy. Thank you for coming by to read my Summer Bucket List, Update 07.2019.
Hugs and kisses,
Nancy
It s lovely to have a bucket list! That wat you can t forget the nice things you want to do. I want to picknick in the nature reserve on a hot Summer evening!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I would love for you to join us for the fall bucket list posts. You can write up just 3-4 things you want to do. Like your picnic in the nature reserve. Please think about creating a list to share on 09.21!!
Kellyann Rohr
I’m excited about your all girls picture and trip to Hawaiian Falls! But I can’t wait to hear what your girls think about your temporary tattoo!
I just love this bucket list idea, it really helps me think about making things happen and not just thinking about them!
xo,
Kellyann

So disappointed that my temp tat didn’t arrive in time for my trip to Ft. Worth. Boo!! So now my plan is to surprise PC with it. Just hope it is in the mailbox when I get home.
Glad you are enjoying your bucket list and making things happen, trying new activities. Sharing our lists with our blogging friends kind of sets our plans in stone and makes it harder to renege on accomplishing them.

Hi Leslie,
You’ve done lots, with lots still “pending” to look forward to. Fireworks looked amazing…
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Nancy, come join us this fall for the bucket list series. Would love to have you inspire us with activities you plan.
Deb
Have a fantastic time with your girls in Ft Worth!
You’re going to love having family close by again, lots of adventures to have with Lucia – have fun x
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you!! Worn out from chasing after 2 grandbabies this week and weekend. Feeling my age. Tomorrow we head to the water park which is going to be fun and will cross one thing off my bucket list.
ShootingStarsMag
That’s great you went on your backwards date. You definitely have to do a full post on that one. And I like the design you picked for your temp tattoo. So cute!
I still need to do my bucket list update; hopefully Tuesday!

Just getting around to answering the comments on my bucket list post and visiting everyone else. Have been out of town for days and just have no time to sit and blog. Will stop by to see if you have updated your progress. You had some fun activities on your list.
Dara
Great job so far. I am very much looking forward to reading about your backwards date!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Off visiting my daughter but will share the backward date deets very soon!!
Danielle
Hawaiin Falls looks like my kind of place. Fantastic! Also, I hope you have so much fun with your girls this week. Looks like you have lots of activities pending. I bet in another month they will be checkmarks.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you for the encouragement. We are having a good but hectic time in Ft. Worth. We try to do so much and in reality, we just need to be together.
Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom
Hah! I don’t have any tattoos and I doubt I ever well. Love this ‘temp’ tattoo idea! I can’t wait to hear about this backwards date!

I cannot imagine anything that I would want on my body permanently like a tattoo. I can’t stand getting ink pen marks on myself. And so many folks get the darnedest tattoos that might mean something when they are 20 and seems absolutely ridiculous when they are parents and grandparents or professionals in the working world. I don’t get it. But I was hoping I could freak my girls out by having a temp tattoo. Sadly, it didn’t come in time for me to wear it on our trip together. Oh, well!!
Jennie
You have so many fabulous ideas and outings on your summer bucket list, Leslie! I have been toying with the idea of getting a temporary tattoo. I am definitely going to check out Momentary Tattoo! Hope you have a wonderful week!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Jennie, I am still waiting on my Momentary Ink tattoo so I am not sure how reliable they are. They have were very attentive to my design and my emails but then I haven’t heard anything since I approved my design over 2 weeks ago. Can’t imagine it takes them too long to create the tat. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment.

Congratulations on planning and implementing your backwards date, Leslie! I know it’s been on your list for awhile. I love your Food for the Soul items. I’m also eager to see pics of your temporary tattoo. I love the design. Happy summer to you!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Lots of activities still pending on my list. But working on accomplishing them. Glad to have finally put a checkmark by the backwards date. Now to write about it!

Poor you, I don’t envy your packing and moving. I swore when I moved into our current home it would be forever. But I know you are going to enjoy life in Arizona.

I don’t know, I see a lot of “Pending” on the list…summer is almost over. You better get going! 🙂
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Knocking out some stuff on my bucket list this week!!
Dee | Grammy's Grid
So far so good, keep going. I know you’re glad to have your girls close by 🙂 Looking forward to seeing the temp tat and to hear what your girls had to say about it!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Enjoying my time in Ft. Worth but being a grandmother 24/7 is exhausting!!
Dee | Grammy's Grid
I know it is but just think how much those grandbabies are enjoying their Mimi/Gabba ♥
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Aww, thanks, Dee. I loved being with my grandbabies so much and I feel so blessed to have Lucia living in the same city with me, now.
Laura
You have so many great things planned and completed on your list! I feel like summer flies by so quickly I’d be scared I would make a list and then realize I didn’t do any of it in mid-August! Haha!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I really do better on my bucket lists when I print them and put them on the frig. And I need to do that with this season’s list, now that my printer is working again. Time has flown this summer but I am really ready for fall so bring on the sweater weather.
