Happy Monday, girlsies, it’s time to reveal my mini winter bucket list 2022. I usually reveal my bucket lists on the first day of the new season. That would have been 12.21.2021 for this winter bucket list. But that was the day after Declan was born and we weren’t thinking beyond getting baby boy and his mommy, my daughter Brennyn, healthy and home from the hospital.
Decided to take the pressure off and make this a mini bucket list since we only have about 6 weeks of winter left. That according to Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog. Since beginning this series with my 2016 Autumn Bucket List, I’ve learned a few things. Most importantly, I have come to realize that I can get more caught up in making sure an activity happens rather than actually enjoying myself when it does. Want to make sure I remember that the point of these exercises is to live life more consciously. And to pack some new experiences in with the everyday routines.
That being said, let’s see what I’ve planned to enjoy this winter. I submit to you, my winter bucket list.
My Mini Winter Bucket List 2022
Just as I do with my wellness goals, I like to divide my bucket lists into categories. That way I attempt to try different types of things in various aspects of my life.
SUSIE HOMEMAKER
- Clean house from top to bottom to include purging closet: – carried over from autumn goals; time to part with some clothes. Want to try to sell some items on Poshmark. Have sold 2 things successfully there before.
A FAMILY AFFAIR
- Take a picture with all the girls: good grief, how many times has this been on my bucket lists? And it is yet to happen. Brennyn, Cady and Declan are coming for a visit early in March…before winter officially ends and spring begins. Would like to find someone who could take a photo of my daughters, grandchildren and me. Best thing ever would be if we would have a bounty of poppies again like last year and could have our pictures taken in the flowers.
CRAFTY LIKE A FOX
- Scrapbook our South Padre vacation: want to do this with my sister Valerie. We are scrapping the same pictures but doing our own layouts and page designs, then sharing with each other.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
- Treat myself to a manicure: haven’t had one for years. Really. Think I will treat myself to a manicure before I embark on the house cleaning. Maybe this week before Valentine’s Day?
WRITING ON THE WALL
- Complete #Write28Days: on my way…this is my 7th day of writing!!
WHAT ELSE?
You might have noticed I didn’t add any philanthropic endeavors. That doesn’t mean I’m going to stop trying to do nice things, paying it forward, thinking of others. But rather than doing those things because my bucket list says I should, this winter I want to just do them, naturally, instinctively, impulsively.
Also didn’t include a date night activity. But I am hoping we can have a special date night this weekend. Stay tuned.
YOUR Turn
Short and sweet since we are already well into the winter season. Really want to return my focus to enjoying these activities rather than just doing them because I said I would here. Have you created a winter bucket list yet? Won’t you share what you have planned for the rest of this season?
Counting this post as today’s writing for #Write28Days with Anita Ojeda. Coming up, On Wednesdays We Write, 10 on the 10th and Where Bloggers Live. Busy week, girls!! Going to the cardiologist tomorrow for the results of my 2-week Holter monitor study and grocery shopping before or after. Subbing on Wednesday and Thursday then hoping for a date night of Friday. How does your week look?
Thank you for visiting today.
Hugs and kisses,
Donna Connolly
Great Winter Bucket List, Leslie.
Please post about your deep cleaning and purging. I could use some inspiration in this department!

Oh, I hope the family picture happens this season. I just want to get out skating but between the cold and my health issues, that could be a challenge…
Joanne
I did create a winter bucket list but I have pretty much forgotten all about it!

Family photos are no easy feat! I hope that you are able to get them done soon! You definitely deserve to treat yourself to a mani! Love the idea of scrapbooking with your sister!

I hope you get a family picture, that would be nice!
Deb
A family photo would be amazing – this one MUST happen!
Once again you have a busy week this week – I’m kind of thinking there is never a week which isn’t busy for you!

Sounds like a lovely bucket list. Here’s to seeing much of it accomplished…especially that special photo session. Oh, and a manicure. I, too, have not had one in – well, forever. I do pedicures regularly but sorta think a nice manicure and color on my nails would help my old lady looking hands!

Does my nightly knitting count as crafty?? LOL!!
And I have started to clean around the house a little. I always joke that housecleaning is overrated. Give me laundry and I’m happy. But dusting is not my forte!!

I just had a mani and facial and it was my first pampering since before Covid!! That is a long time! It was so nice. I would love to get a family photo done, we haven’t since the kids were little. I was thinking when we are in San Diego it’d be nice, but I feel like I am the only one in the family that likes to get our photos taken… soo… not sure if I should even bother! Lol. Congrats on being grandma!! 🙂

You definitely need a professional photo of your family all together! I hope you get that checked off your list. And girl, please treat yourself to a manicure – you have a heart of gold and deserve to be pampered!
