Hey, fashionistas!
It has been awhile since I have posted from My Fashion Haus. Had to beat back the weeds to get in the door and knock down the cobwebs once I had climbed inside. I am doing a shopping ban through a Facebook group created by Carrie at A Lovely Little Wardrobe. I have been really good so far but I am also doing a little fashion challenge with Lisa at Daily Style Finds and I don’t have a couple of the pieces on her recommended shopping list.
What to do, what to do?
Maybe I could get someone to buy me the pieces I am lacking so I don’t break my shopping ban but can still completely participate in the shopping challenge.
While I deliberate over this conundrum, I have been trying to wear some of the seldom worn pieces in my closet, following Lana’s good lead at Two Teens and Their Mama, who is shopping her closet over the next few weeks.
Here’s a couple of little numbers I pulled together from out of the depths of my closet.
I think all of the pattern-mixing in this outfit worried PC a bit. He kept mumbling something about polka dots and stripes, polka dots and stripes. The blazer is from Target, Hinge striped long sleeve tee with lace sleeves, Loft skinny jeans, hand-me-down striped flats from my daughter Lauren.
I added the striped earrings from Charming Charlie’s just to take it up a notch.
I thought this outfit was fun. Probably because I got such a reaction from my PC when I put it together! Ha!
This second look features a tan V-neck sweater I had forgotten I had. I think I bought it for last year’s winter challenge with Alison Lumbatis. But my closet is arranged in color order – ROY G BIV – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet and then neutrals: white, tans and beiges, brown, gray, black. This pull-over had gotten pushed waaaaay to the back of the neutrals where I couldn’t see it.
After putting it on to wear to school on Wednesday, I about decided it should have stayed pushed waaaaay back in my closet. I don’t think it does me any favors but I am not sure what is wrong. Maybe the fit? Too boxy? Too big? Just messy looking?
Here’s another look.
Yeah, I think maybe it is too baggy looking. Maybe I can shrink it? Probably not, though, because the only things that shrink are the things that are a little too tight already. Gap sweater, JCPenney chambray shirt, Loft camos, DSW nude pumps, necklace from Charming Charlie’s.
I wore this next outfit to work a week or so ago. Told the kids I rode my horse to school. Side saddle, of course. They wanted to know where I parked him. Kind of put it together around the beautiful scarf my sister-in-law Metra gave me for Christmas.
She and my brother, their kids and my mom all live in horse country – Lexington, Kentucky. I really like the orange color of the scarf and the little horsie-things, stirrups?, in gold. Metra worked at a little boutique called Pretty in Pink over the Christmas holidays to help out the owner, a friend and she got this scarf there. You can shop Pretty in Pink on Facebook, here.
Chambray dress from Loft, boyfriend cardi from Kohl’s, I think and am too lazy to check, no, wait…Dress Barn, cowboy boots from Cavenders.
I have on my Loren Hope chain bracelet that I never remember to wear. My El Paso school district ID badge completes the look.
Oh, hi!
And with that scary image, I will leave you.
My PC is out of town for a few days to spend time with his parents while his father is recovering from surgery. I enjoyed my day off doing lots of little things I don’t always take time/have time to do but I am missing my Prince tonight. The kitties kept me warm in bed last night but it isn’t the same.
Hurry home to me, PC.
I miss you.
Hugs and kisses,
Sharon

Gosh, we have really had trouble getting back to an emailing schedule. We are busy girls. Once this baby comes, I hope
life will settle down. Can’t wait to hear about your Jamaica holiday. Hope the sun starts shining.

That cobalt blue looks amazing on you!

Thank you! Don’t wear a lot of blue. Maybe I should rethink that?

Love that chambray dress! And the scarf is gorgeous with it! What a fun print!

I don’t know what I’d do, probably break the shopping ban to buy the pieces for the challenge and then go back to the ban…These outfits are so cute! Love the cobalt polka dots and the chambray dress!

Well, I found a blush cardi in my closet so didn’t have to break the ban for that!! But I am surely wanting a faux leather
Moto jacket and might have to jump off the ban just long enough to snag one. Thank you for your compliments. I love my
chambray. Need to remember to wear it more.
