Welcome friends, It’s that time again…time for the reveal of my 2020 winter bucket list. Gathering with some of my favorite blogging buddies to share our lists. Some prefer to call them activity lists or fun lists. But no matter what we call it, we’ve each created a list of experiences planned for this season.
For past seasonal bucket lists, I have sometimes listed very specific activities. Other times, my lists have been broader and a little less defined. You can check out my ambitious 2018 winter bucket list, here. Or click here to review last year’s list.
No matter the types of activities on each season’s list, I need to be sure to remember that the point of these bucket list exercises is to live life more intentionally. And to pack some new experiences in with the everyday routines.
Here’s what I have on the docket for this season’s list.
My 2020 Winter Bucket List
Here are the 10 activities on my 2020 winter bucket list.
First 5:
- Make grandma’s cinnamon and orange rolls. Need to bake a batch of each and some homemade bread while I am at it.
- Try 2 new restaurants. The Melting Pot, a fondue restaurant, opened last year and I have been interested in trying it. Also thinking it’s high time we try Rosa’s Cantina of the Marty Robbin’s song fame.

- Visit our new neighborhood bar. Several months ago the Tin Man Pub opened within walking distance of our neighborhood. Would like to try it out.

- Listen to a book with PC. We have done this several times in the past. Thinking we could listen in the hot tub and then in the car when we are out and about.
- Participate in Proverbs 31 online Bible study. My SIL and friend Metra happened to mention she was doing this Bible study and invited friends to join her. I registered and my workbook arrives today.

Second 5:
- Scrapbook Lucia and Cami’s births. Have been working on scrapbooking Lauren and Francisco’s wedding. Didn’t want to scrapbook the babies’ births until I had their parents ‘married!’
- Take a course or class. Thinking about a couples pottery class ala the movie “Ghost” with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. Not sure I can get PC to take his shirt off though.

- Attend a UTEP basketball game. We enjoy cheering on the Miners during football season. Why not check out a basketball game?
- Enjoy an Alan Jackson concert. Confession: this has been on the agenda for several months. Actually, since we first met…so even longer than that. Can’t wait til 02.21.2020!
- Delight in a weekend away. We really, really need this! Have started making plans. Details to come.
I’ve listed housecleaning projects and health goals on past bucket lists. This year, though, I decided to relegate housecleaning to my monthly goals. Shared my winter goals in this post. Earlier this week we had our first Wellness Weekend post and link up. So I shared my health goals then. You can see I have goals for everything all over the place!!

Well, girls, I didn’t sleep well last night, so I think I am going to take a quick 40 winks before PC gets home to the castle. Have a pot of soup in the crockpot and a fire in the fireplace. Very wintry and gray outside. Perfect for a nap.
Thank you for running by to visit. Please leave a comment below to let me know you were here! Then cheer me along on the progress on my 2020 winter bucket list. Will be sharing updates on 02.21.2020 and 03.21.2020.
Hugs and kisses,

Your winter bucket list is great! I decided to take a break from the bucket list thing for this season. Hoping to jump back in for the spring, though. I’m very interested in that online Bible study. And I would LOVE to see Alan Jackson in concert! SO JEALOUS! I’ll look forward to your report about it and live vicariously through you for that one. Also a weekend away sounds divine! I hope you’re going somewhere warm and lazy. Enjoyed your post!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Looking forward to the Alan Jackson concert, too! He reminds me so much (in looks) of my first boyfriend, who was the perfect first boyfriend. And he sings great, too!!
Sent you an email with info on the Bible study. Come join us.
Deb
Too right that household chores should not be on your bucket list! Bucket lists should be full of fun things like evenings out, trying new restaurants and bars, doing family things …
2020 should be a good year if you tick off all these things!
Dara
Looks like a great list!
Juhli
Love how specific you have gotten for your activities – makes them more likely to happen. Great list.
Christie Hawkes
Hello Leslie. I’m happy to see all fun things on your Winter Bucket List. Enjoy! Also, I hope you got your nap in. A nap on a wintry day with soup in the crockpot sounds heavenly.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Hey Christie, been thinking of you. I didn’t get my nap in the other day but I am already planning one for tomorrow!! Looking forward to enjoying my bucket list activities.
Bettye
Ooh, I love this! I used to have a Main Bucket List…and I had some seasonal, as well, but…LIFE. It’s been years since I seriously looked at my lists (they’re on my phone). I need to start doing this again, thanks for the reminder!

Oh, Bettye, come join us for this bucket list series. We always start a new seasonal list on the 21st of the month that the season begins…12/21 and 3/21 and 6/21 and 9/21. And then we do follow up posts for two months after the initial reveal of the list. So we can update our progress. I have a nice group of gals who participate. Some regularly and some off and on. Come join us!! This link up will be open for a few days more, maybe a week. Would love to have you join us.
Joanne
These are great goals!

Love these ideas! Have you read Demi Moore’s book yet? I just finished it and I think you’d LOVE it. You made me think of it with the pottery and Ghost.

These sound fun & I’d love the recipe for your Grandma’s orange & cinnamon rolls if you’re able to share it. Re the weekend away, sometimes a few days is all you need to recharge & reconnect.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Hey sweets, so glad to have you stop by. I will share the recipe for the orange and cinnamon rolls. Let me get them made and will do a post about them and share. They are so good. Just a bit time consuming to prepare. And not even that, really! I am just lazy!
Min @ Write of the Middle
Hi Leslie – love the snow flakes on this page!! It’s funny reading a winter post when it’s summer here. I love your bucketlist. I hope you get through them all and I look forward to reading your post on your Grandma’s Orange & Cinnamon Rolls (as you advised Jo Tracey). #TeamLovinLife
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you!! I love the snowflakes. You are the first one to mention them this year.
I used to have a couple of gals join me for the bucket lists from Australia. It was fun to read that they were doing the polar opposite of what we were doing for each season of the year. Would love to have you join us. Spring bucket lists go live on 03.21. Just let me know if you would be interested.

What a great list — I agree, cleaning should go on a separate list. This should be a “fun” list, ya know? I mean, it’s your list but you mentioned wanting to live intentionally and while having a clean house is cool, I think the couples pottery or the concert or the book listening are much more memory creating. Did that make sense? Sometimes I confuse myself. LOL
I need to think of a couples thing that The Hubs and I can do. We need to do some fun stuff together.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you! I think I have come to recognize cleaning as a goal and not a bucket list activity! PC just poo-pooed the couples’ pottery because baseball season has begun and he might have a practice game. Their season goes from January to October. So frustrating. Saturdays become off-limits for all that time. I am grumpy.
Shelbee on the Edge
Leslie, what fun things you have included on your winter bucket list! I will have to do some brainstorming to create a list. But some things I have been wanting to do to escape the winter blues are all booked for the middle of January. I am spending the weekend in a cabin in the woods and attending two concerts that week. I am sure I will share all about it on the blog!

Oh, Shelbee, think about doing a winter bucket list and linking up with us. It could be just those 3 things – which are splendid – the cabin, the concerts!! Maybe throw in a new outfit you have been wanting or some shoes? Or a book you are hoping to read. You could link up with us now and then come back on 02.21 to give us a progress report.
If not, there’s always spring…we will share that list on 03.21. Would love to have you join in!!
Jill
I didn’t make a winter bucket list this time around. So many good things on your list! I think it would be fun to take a couple’s pottery class! And listening to a book while relaxing in the hot tub sounds like a perfect way to spend an evening!

Thank you, Jill. Hope you will consider joining in again for spring. I think winter bucket lists are the hardest.

Those are great winter goals. Mine are to finish a quilt I’ve been working on for years (almost done!), make a stuffed animal, renovate the family room (in progress).
