Hey, gals,
Started to put an exclamation point up there after ‘girls’ but it hasn’t been an exclamation point-kind-of-Monday. Instead, it was a L O N G Monday. And when I got home, I really didn’t feel like cooking dinner so we were naughty and ordered a pizza. Sure was good, though! And there’s a moment of gratitude, right there. What’s your favorite go-to meal for L O N G Mondays and other days when you don’t want to cook?
I am linking-up again today with Shaunacey at Simply Shaunacey for her “Monday Moments of Gratitude”, which I like to call my little blessings. Be sure to treat yourself to her post for today; they are always moving and inspirational.
So, let’s get this show on the road, shall we? Here are some of the little miracles in my life lately:
Grateful for some fun research experiences with first, second and third graders at school. Today was my last class at Rosa Guerrero Elementary. Here are a couple of pictures of the research we have been doing…elephants with first grade, U.S. states with second and desert animals with third.
I will be working until June 8 finishing (or trying to finish) a lot of projects and tying up loose ends but today was the last time I will work with the kids. Bittersweet. But what a blessing this experience has been. Certainly renewed my faith in school administrators – I have now worked with the best.
Thankful for the sweet compliments I have received from total strangers. I wore a blue and white striped dress from Loft with a yellow cardi from Steinmart and nude heels a la my friend Andrea at Andrea’s Wellness Notes. You can see Andrea’s look that inspired mine, here. I was in Lowe’s with PC Saturday after church and had two very put-together women about my age call to me “You are one hot mama” from the register where they were standing in line. I am sure I grinned from ear-to-ear.
The raspberry and blue outfit is what I wore to school today. As I walked in the door to the office, another substitute teacher passed me in the hall and told me how much she loved my outfit. She went on to say I was putting her to shame in her Birkenstocks and capris. My Merona skirt is from Target, Loft Outlet blouse, Loft cardi and Kohl’s patent pumps. It feels so good to dress up and to feel good in your clothes. I think my 21 Day Fix is beginning to pay off a little. A little.
Wore this H&M kimono or smoking jacket with a Loft white cami – thanks for the suggestion, Jo-Lynne Shane from – yup, none over than Jo-Lynne Shane – and dark wash Wit and Wisdom jeans, Target gold sandals. I had to present to the teachers all day during each grade level’s prep period and I had so many compliments on my outfit.
Cleavage wasn’t as obvious or in your face from other angles…like that of a first grader. The bird’s eye view was just a little bit PG rated.
So blessed to have a husband who makes me laugh. Even when I am the butt of his jokes. My email address has always been ‘mommyhon333’ – for years, since the early 90s, since long before I met my PC. He teases me about always being the ‘mommy’, never having completely cut the apron strings with my daughters. So when I reminded him to put on sunscreen before his ball game on Saturday, he slathered on more than enough for him and me, to make a ‘subtle’ point.
I had to laugh. Even though I really get frustrated sometimes when he says, “yes, mother” or refers to my ever-mothering ways with Brennyn and Lauren.
I am grateful for a day of off-and-on rain showers. Boy, we needed it. Third rain of the year. Everything is so dry.
We even had a little hail. The temperature dropped to the 60s and my world smelled so clean and earthy, and seemed to be smiling again. Back to 96 and bone-dry today. But there will another rain, someday.
And that’s a peek into some of the things that made my heart sing this week.
Question:What has you singing? Did someone lift your spirits? Did it rain or stop raining at your house for a change? Please share in a comment below.
Thank you, sweet friends, for being on my list of little miracles. Big hugs to each of you. Have a quiet week.
Hugs and kisses,
Sharon

Isn’t laughing the best medicine? That should be a bumpersticker!!

We have had SO much hail here this year, its been crazy! PC is too funny, I think he just likes to do things like that so he gets to show up on a photo on your blog! Ha! Smoking jacket? I hope you don’t smoke, not good for you!! Ok, lecture over 😉 That H&M jacket is darling, I love the colors on it!! It sounds like you are so good with the kids and the librarian job was just made for you!

Oh, thank you, Carrie. I love kids. Mine and anyone else’s. Nope, don’t smoke and never have but just thought the jacket looked like one
I used to see Ricky Ricardo wear on I Love Lucy as he lit up a Cuban stogie. PC is really camera shy – or just hates having his picture taken – but who can resist how cute he looks when he is being silly. Gotta share! XO
Deena
I would totally compliment you in real life if I saw you in that.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Aww, thank you! I try to make an effort to compliment gals when I am out and about. Sometimes the only kind word a person hears is from someone they don’t know. 🙁
Lana
You look great, and I agree with all the complimenters! Love the wonderful relationship you have with your husband. I would love to send you some of our abundant rain!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, I wish we could take some rain off your hands. If ONLY!!! Thank you, baby.
