January was the first month that I participated in this series. We took a look at the contents of our bedside table. In case you missed it, you can check out mine here.

But First, My Closet
I know a lot gals have only the clothes for the current season in their closets. Not me. Living in El Paso means we really only have 3 seasons with 3 temperature ranges. Chilly. Warm. Hot. As a result, I wear a lot of my clothes all year round. In the late fall and winter, I just add 1 more layer.
I have 5 rods on my side of the closet. Sweaters and cardigans. Long-sleeved blouses. Coats and jackets hanging with dresses, skirts and dress pants, yeah, that rod is squishy. Sleeveless and short-sleeved tops and tees. And finally, jeans. Everything is arranged in color order. But it is past time for me to get in there and do another purge. As you can see.
Let’s Look At…Your Winter Wardrobe
Sharing 3 different looks with you today. I wore the first look to the Sun Bowl game, to dinner with the kids, and most recently to dinner and a UTEP basketball game. That night we were checking off a winter bucket list activity.
Have only worn the second look once. To church. But look forward to styling the skirt again soon. I think it’s floral print will make it a piece I can wear into spring.
The graphic tee was new last week. Can imagine wearing it year-round, with denim skirts, white jeans, even shorts.
This look has been my winter uniform. My favorite go-to this season. Alison at Get Your Pretty On had this cute graphic sweat shirt (exact, similar) on the winter capsule wardrobe shopping list. It’s from J.Crew Factory. And I have worn the tail off it. Paired it with my Loft Outlet skinny cords (similar, similar), and an Old Navy blanket scarf (similar, similar). My L’Artiste leather booties (exact, similar) were a Christmas present from my P. Charming.
Told you this has been my uniform. In the left photo, I am wearing skinny jeans and Frye brown boots. On the right, it’s Rampage black boots with boot cuffs and straight leg black cords.
Sunday Morning Look
One of my Wellness Weekend goals for 2020 is to wear a skirt or dress to church every week. Really, truly did not want to do that last Sunday morning. My jeans were calling my name!! But I sucked it up, and slipped on this Loft Outlet skirt (similar, similar) with a J.Crew striped turtleneck and my Rampage black boots (similar, similar) and Johnny moto jacket (similar, similar). Wore a black leather belt and my tree of life pendant.
Kind of hard to tell in the pictures but this skirt is dark green corduroy with a floral print. I stepped way outside my fashion comfort zone to pair a striped turtleneck with it. On our way to church I asked PC if he was embarrassed by my pattern mixing and he said he was used to not knowing what to expect from me!!
Over the Mountain Look
Last week, I went over the mountain to help with Lucia and Cami when the girls both came down with the flu. We were all on Tamiflu and it kept us from really getting down flat.
Then on Wednesday we learned that my mom had suffered a stroke sometime in the past week or so. All of us had noticed mom was having trouble finding words and talking sensibly. My brother had taken her to the urgent care clinic and the ER and no one had caught it. When she continued to get worse, my brother took her to the ER at another hospital where an MRI confirmed that she had what they call a left sided cerebral hemisphere cerebrovascular accident.
On that same day, I received this graphic tee that I had ordered from somewhere. I can’t remember where!! Anyway, it couldn’t have come on a better day. Debated about wearing it across the mountain to Lauren’s because I am sensitive about seeming like I am…pushing my beliefs on her? But I needed this reminder.
“I Got This…Stop Worrying – God.”
Have a feeling as the weather warms, this tee is going to get a whole lotta wear.
So, that’s my winter wardrobe. Or some of it! What have you been wearing on repeat this season? Do you find yourself picking out the same look over again? Pledging to wear a dress or skirt to church has me shaking things up at least once a week! I did share a few other winter looks in this January What I’m Wearing post, here. Let me know which outfit you like best in a comment below. Then be sure to run by and check out Shay and Erika’s terrific winter clothes.
We had snow again today! Hurray!! Stay warm, friends.
Hugs and kisses,
