Hey, Dolls!
I won’t keep you but a minute. Just had to share my OOTD which should have been worn last week on Thursday. Basically I am seven days late with it. But I liked it so much that I just had to show off!
Speaking of late…I had a dental appointment at 8:00 a.m. (who thought that was a good idea?) so didn’t have time/take time to snap a pic for you at home. When I got to the dentist’s office, my hygienist was running late, so I ducked into the bathroom to take a quick pic.
I don’t know about your dentist’s bathroom, but I think this a really nice bathroom my dentist has here. I tried to pick up the little silver vases just to check them out last time my teeth were cleaned. Guess they’ve had a little trouble with people doing that because all of the cute nick-knacks are glued down.
Pardon the potty in the background. I guess I could have put the lid down at least.
Ingredients for Day 4: Chambray + White Tank + Dark Wash Jeans + Hoop Earrings + Bright Flats
This lavatory is far nicer than my own at home!
Chambray shirt from JCPenney. White tank top from Loft. Dark wash curvy, skinny jeans from Loft. And Charming Charlie’s clearance coral necklace.
And my shoes?
Well, when I was in Houston last weekend visiting, Lauren pulled out an entire bag of darling shoes that she can’t wear for one reason or another. She invited me to take any that I liked (the whole bag). However, I felt like Cinderella’s step-sisters trying to s q u e e z e my size 9 (9 1/2) foot into her size 8 (8 1/2) shoes.
With a little bit of coaxing my feet were persuaded to slip struggle into this cute little nautical pair.
I also scored two pairs of linen-looking flats, one with a sassy little peep toe that gives my toes more room to hang off the end. Just ask my feet, I will do about whatever it takes to wear a pair of shoes that I really like.
So, once my hygienist arrived, I was called back for X-rays and my cleaning. Before I sat down in the torture chair, I asked Shelly to take my picture. She had such a funny look on her face. Almost suspicious of why I would want a picture…like maybe I was worried she might really mess up my teeth during the appointment and I wanted a “before” picture to show how perfect my teeth were prior to my cleaning.
I explained that a few of my friends and I dress in a prescribed OOTD then take pictures of ourselves wearing it. We share the pictures with one another on Facebook to see how each of us made the outfit our own. Shelly smiled sideways like she wasn’t buying my explanation.
Here is the picture Shelly took.
I went on to explain to Shelly that after I retired I was truly lost for a time. Discovering and participating in Alison’s challenges gave me a reason to get dressed for a few months until I finally began rediscovering myself. Contrary to popular belief, retirement can be hard work and kind of stressful. But I am finally finding me.
Like several hundred of my spring challenge friends, I would never have put chambray with blue denim.
But it works!
Who knew?
I guess that Alison Lumbatis did!
She is something else.
If you have a chambray shirt, try it with your dark wash jeans.
And then come back to let me know how you liked the two together.
Enjoy your Friday.
Hugs and kisses,
Lauren Buendia
I love this post, mom!!!! You’re so crazy. That bathroom is nice…I can’t believe stuff is glued down, though. That’s nutty. You look so slender in this outfit. It’s very flattering. I LOVE that you’re wearing our new CC gear and the kitty watch!!! So cute. I love you and am REALLY proud of you.

On a sad note, my kitty lost her glasses on my trip home from Houston. Maybe she got contacts??? Thank you for saying I look slender. I am back on track swimming, gyming, doing weights…got to keep it up. I love you, baby!

Thank you, sugar. Wish I could have talked more with you during our Google Hangout. Maybe we can try it alone sometime. Isn’t Dr. Munoz’s office grand? She is a very feminine, young dentist and she obviously likes pretty things. Thank you for coming by.
