Morning glories! Linking up with Narci, Erika and Andrea, today for my Friday Favorites, 03.2020 post. While a lot of gals make this a weekly series, I am aiming to share my faves once a month, on the last Friday. So far, so good. But you know what they say about best laid plans. You can read about the goodies in last month’s Friday Faves, here.

Friday Favorites 03.2020
A couple of my faves for this month are gadgets I have purchased as I work to declutter and organize our home. Have been following along with Taylor’s 52 Weeks To An Organized Home. Was relieved to discover that during the month of March, while I was out of town twice, Taylor had us working on decluttering our laundry rooms, basements and setting up a laundry schedule.
My washer and dryer don’t have a ‘room’ of their own, as they are in the entry between the garage and the house. Not enough space for anything to get cluttered in there. And we don’t have a basement. My laundry schedule is pretty streamlined already; wash on Sundays and iron on Mondays. So didn’t feel like it needed any fine-tuning.
Next week we tackle the garage. Oy vey, we do have one of those and boy, does it need some TLC.
Here are a couple of things helping me get organized this month.
Cabinet Hanging Trash Can
This little guy is saving me so many steps as I prepare dinner. Unlike most folks, our kitchen trash cans are not in our kitchen. They are around the corner in the hall closet. Sounds weird I know as it’s probably really supposed to a coat closet and not a trash closet. But our trash cans are so tall, they won’t fit under the sink where everyone else stores theirs. Could get smaller trash cans but then I would meet myself coming and going taking them out to the big trash cans.
I use this cabinet hanging trash can for vegetable and meat scraps when I am cooking and food wrappers that can’t be recycled. Then, when I am cleaning up the kitchen after the meal, I gather the bag in my hanging trash can and toss it into the big trash can in the closet. When I am finished cooking or having company (never happens), I can turn the cabinet hanging trash can so that it faces inside the cabinet, out of sight.
Broom and Mop Holder
One of the areas Taylor had us tackle recently was our garbage and recycling space. Which, as you now know, is also called our coat closet. But that space didn’t require a whole lot of reorganizing at our house. It is just 2 fairly tall kitchen trash cans tucked into an area where others would hang coats.
Instead of working on that closet, I cleaned out the closet under our stairs which is a kind of catchall for cleaning supplies, kitty food, and suitcases. I ordered 2 of the broom and mop holders below onto which I am hanging my…yup, you guessed it…my broom and mop. And my feather duster, Swiffer, window cleaner/squeegee, and all sorts of spring cleaning tools.
Prayer Bowls
Remember the surrender cross I shared in last month’s Friday Favorites? If not, check it out here. So beautiful! I guess Facebook has me pegged because today an ad for these prayer bowls popped onto my feed. Such a wonderful idea.
It is white on the inside with a colorful bird attached to a small branch. The exterior of the bowl is a smokey light blue. Psalm 91:4 makes it’s way around the bowl. He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge.
Now I am torn. Do I order a surrender cross or a prayer bowl? Or play the lottery in order to afford both.
Beaded Tassel Stretch Bracelet
My friend Kellyann at This Blonde’s Shopping Bag shared the most adorable beaded bracelet a few weeks ago. You can check it out on her Instagram account, here. I think Kellyann reported that it had sold out pretty quickly. So I have been on the lookout for something similar since.
I found my version, a beaded tassel stretch bracelet, at Alison&Aubrey. Thought it would go with everything…that whole rainbow color palette seems to work that way! And it can be worn as a necklace, too.
It is on sale right now, so if you are interested, now’s the time to jump!! Would be tickled pink if you would use my affiliate link to do so. Here’s an upclose photo. Aren’t the colors pretty?
Can’t wait to wear it!
He is Risen Graphic Tee
On the same day my bracelet arrived, so did my He is Risen graphic tee from the Crafty Walkers Shop at Etsy. I would link to the shop but it appears they are not open right now. Praying that this little family and their small business are managing to stay well during the Covid-19 crisis.
The tee was available in a variety of soft colors for spring but something about the yellow called my name. I think it just looks so hopeful. And maybe we all need a little extra dose of hope right now. The tee shipped so quickly and arrived in the sweetest packaging.
Won’t it be cute with my bracelet? Think I will wear it this weekend.
So, that’s a wrap for this month’s edition of Friday Favorites. Hope maybe you found something useful among the items I shared.
Your Turn
What are your plans for the weekend? PC is off on Friday so we have a 3-dayer. But can’t really venture far from home. He is mid-way through a project to replace the outdoor carpeting on our balcony. Wants to finish that. I am cleaning closets. And need to get busy decluttering my craft space. Might try to order some dinner on Sunday for pickup and eat in a park, if the weather is pretty.
I am hoping to host an Easter/Passover recipe swap and blog hop for Tuesday, 04.07.2020. If you would like to join me, please let me know in a comment below. Doesn’t have to be an elaborate post, but just an opportunity to share favorite spring recipes. Holler if you would like to be part of the blog hop.
Off to fix breakfast and get this day started. Stay healthy, dear friends. Let me know you are doing ok.
Hugs and kisses,

What a wonderful bracelet s! Your place of trash cans doesn’t sound as weird as my place for jackets and coats. I don’t have that for guests. I hate the messy look of coats on my hall. Lol. I hope to see you on my Fancy Friday link up party too!
Thank you, Nancy, I have enjoyed wearing the bracelet twice already. Thank you. We rarely wear coats and never have guests so we really don’t need a coat closet!
Those are some great organizational items. We have a very large kitchen trash can too and have never been able to store it under our sink.
Thanks!! I just don’t the purpose of having a tiny trash can. I like my new kitchen bins because I don’t have to stop in the middle of preparing a meal to throw away scraps of meat or packaging into the big trash cans. When I am cleaning up the kitchen after we eat, I empty the bins into the big trash cans and I am done!!
I love the prayer bowl! Such an excellent idea. I will start one tonight. Hope all is well. Love you.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Isn’t the prayer bowl fabulous? Need to say my pennies to afford it. Of course, we don’t need a fancy bowl to have a prayer bowl. Thank you so much for coming by and leaving me a message. Praying you and your darling family are staying safe in this crazy time!!
Ooooh! I’ve never done a blog hop before… That sounds fun! That waste bin is fabulous. We have a very small bin underneath our sink, but because of the way the plumbing is laid, it’s hard to access; this might just be the ticket. I started a declutter an item per day for my spring bucket list, so I’m managing to get some organizing done while I go. Now to get all the photos I’ve managed to gather together rehomed. Thank you for sharing your darling finds. I’d be torn between the cross and the bowl, too! Play the lottery!
Thank you for the encouragement to play the lottery and get both the cross and the lottery. I might just do that!!
You have been doing well with your decluttering projects. I have gotten off track this past week but glad to say
today has been better. Tomorrow I tackle the garage!!
That Prayer Bowl & that bracelet – I love both of those so much!!!
Isn’t that prayer bowl precious? I know I could use any old bowl, but I think these are real pieces of art. My cereal bowl, not so much!
Hi, Leslie – We have been on the same page cleaning, tidying and organizing. Our houses should all look amazing when our quarantines are over! 😀
I was going great guns but once PC started working from home, I kind of fell off. Getting back on track this week though!!
You’re going to think I’m weird but the thing that made me look twice in this post was the fact that you can still buy Swiffers in America! I used to have one, and it was SO useful but the hard foam bit on the bottom started to crumble and I couldn’t use it any more and now they are discontinued over here. (insert sad face!)
I would like to join in with your Easter recipe swap – we always have the same thing for Easter Sunday lunch so I know exactly what I will be sharing. Except for my chocolate Easter eggs, I don’t share those with any one 😉
Yes, I think we can still get all the parts and pieces for the Swiffer. I don’t use mine as much as I once did. Gotten lazy in the mopping department.
Thank you for your interest in joining me for the Easter recipe swap. I did postpone it til the end of April because so many gals are just overwhelmed
right now. So the theme might be more Mother’s Day but I am sure anything you share will be fabulous. Hoping you and yours are safe and healthy.
So many fun (and great) ideas in one post! I love these Friday Favorites:) I definitely vote for the prayer bowl. What a wonderful idea – and I can think of several for whom it would make a wonderful gift (including my pastor’s wife!) I love the bracelet as well. That would be a lovely gift – for me:)
So funny that you have a trash closet. Gotta make your space work for you, right? I think they teach that on HGTV:) If not, I’m claiming it. Ha –
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Get a headstart on that garage. Ugh – I would not want to think about what is needed in our garage. It’s not horrible but could certainly benefit from some attention. (Well, I do have time…..) Always enjoy stopping by!! And when you stop by my spot as well!! God bless –
I have ordered several pieces through Alison&Aubrey and have been very impressed with the quality of this (costume) jewelry as well as the speed with which the orders are filled and shipped. I really like this little delicate beaded bracelet and it will go with everything this spring and summer. Even my pjs which I seem to be wearing more than anything else these days.
I haven’t done a darn thing that amounts to a hill of beans around here. Have to get over myself and get busy but have felt kind of numb and paralyzed all week. My husband is now working from home so my routine is upside down, too. But this too shall pass!!
Tell me more about this declattering challenge. Is it online? Is it a book? I love things like that and my laundry room is just a total mess and not really a designated “laundry” room but it works. I would like to streamline laundry more but haven’t really found a system that works for me yet so any ideas would be good.
Oh, come join the decluttering challenge. I sent you an email with info. Hope you find it helpful.
I love the idea of a prayer bowl. I like to give thanks, often, throughout my day. especially at the moment!!! Best wishes in these unusual and difficult times xxxx
Thank you! Aren’t the prayer bowls wonderful ideas? Of course, we don’t need a fancy bowl to implement this activity. I think we could use an old margarine tub!! But they sure are pretty.
Thank you for finding my blog. Going to return the favor and visit you. Hope you are staying safe and sane!
I love that hanging trash can! My trash can is technically in the kitchen, but it’s not exactly handy when you need something RIGHT THERE. And the bracelet you got is super cute.
-Lauren
I like my hanging trash can, too. I have one for scraps and trash and a second for recycling. And then at the end of the day I dump them into the big trash can. Keeps me sane(r) than running back and forth to the big trash cans while trying to cook.
I have enjoyed wearing my bracelet. Thanks!!
Never heard of a prayer bowl, but it’s so pretty! I love the bracelet too.
Isn’t the prayer bowl so pretty? And they have different styles.
I have really enjoyed my bracelet and it goes with everything, thank you!!
I love the bright bracelet stack you got! It kind of reminds me of a rainbow (as in a rainbow after the rain) which is so perfect for remembering during this time!
Aww, love your analogy of a rainbow after the rain with my new beaded bracelet. It makes me happy, and I think that’s a good thing these days!
Good luck tackling your garage! There’s always more stuff stored away in there than you think! Love your prayer bowl and your tassel bracelet is adorable! Stay healthy and safe!
Jill – Doused in Pink
Oh, our garage has caused more fights between us than money!! Ha! I had shelves built a couple of years ago to hold all of my holiday decor but it still looks messy. I need to figure out a way to arrange things so it looks less obnoxious. Ugh.
I have enjoyed wearing my bracelet. It goes with everything and is so light that I forget I have it on. Thank you.
Well my kitchen trash can is in full view – and it’s bright red. I needed a new trash can a number of years ago and this one just jumped out at me. SOOOOO, after the trash can, I had to have all the accents in my kitchen red – it’s taken awhile, but between gifts from friends & kids, I’m doing pretty good. Love the bright pop of color.

Ooooo, I would like a red trash as my kitchen color is predominately red!! But I have nowhere to put it in the kitchen that I wouldn’t have to dance around it all the time. Which is why my ugly beige trash cans are in the closet!!
