Hey Gals!
Hope you won’t notice that today is Tuesday, in fact, if I don’t type fast it will soon be Wednesday (didn’t type fast enough because it is Wednesday now!) but either way, not the first Monday of the month at all. I know my secret is safe with you, though.
We are talking numbers in this post.
October’s numbers.
And I am linking up with some of my buddies from The Blended Blog so once you have finished ‘ciperin’ with me, head over to Deena’s blog at Shoes to Shiraz, and check out her numbers and the numbers of the other gals linked up there.
Let’s start with a few digits specific to the blog.
Here we go.
- 1,526 page views
- 1,088 unique visits
- 1,385 first time visits
- 347 returning visits
All of these numbers are down quite a bit. But I have been so busy with work, that I haven’t been able to devote as much time to blogging. And if the blogger can’t devote time to the blog how can she expect anyone else to spend time on the blog? I am trying very hard this week/new month to balance my time better. We’ll see how that works come the first of December.
For my sweet readers who have stuck by me, thank you! For those of you who might be new, welcome and thank you for stopping by. Hope all of you will find something here that speaks to you and hope you will come back again!
Here are some numbers from my life this month:
PC and I went to see 5 movies this past month. Here they are, in no particular order: Goosebumps, Bridge of Spies, The Martian, Inside Out, and Sicario. We watched 2 of them at our new Movie Bistro. Comfy seats, good food and adult beverages. All of the movies were good but I was a nervous wreck during Sicario. It is set in Juarez, Mexico, the sister city to El Paso. Too close to home. And the theater was packed. We had to sit on the third row from the front. Just after the movie started, a young man in a dark hoodie (yes, I am profiling) slipped into the outer most seat on the front row of the theater. He slumped down and pulled the hoodie tighter around his head. Both PC and I looked at him and then at the EXIT sign to the right front of the theater and then at each other. I was worried the whole movie. Worried we were going to be shot. I know that may seem a bit paranoid but that’s the way I roll. Paranoid. And when I realized PC was concerned, I was more concerned. As soon as the credits began rolling at the movie’s end, our “suspect” slipped out of his seat and out of the theater before the lights came up.

Attended 1 musical, West Side Story, at the UTEP Dinner Theater. So. Good. I sang and danced to every song right there in my seat. PC and I got all dressed up, and despite the lousy parking situation on campus and having to run to and from the car in the pouring rain, it was wonderful! Might need to start carrying an umbrella(?) with all the rain we’ve had. I understand they are a device that keeps you dry when walking in a rainstorm.
I worked 15 days of the month. All of it at Rosa Guerrero Elementary. I am loving it.
And that means 30 trips across the Franklin Mountains to work and back. Beautiful drive. I can’t help but say a prayer of thanks to God for the tremendous scenery that begins and ends my work day.
I have averaged 10,464 steps a day according to my FitBit. We stepped up from the FitBit Zip to the FitBit Flex and are really happy with this upgrade. We went to the gym 11 times during the month. Trying very hard to go five days a week this month. The Flex also monitors our sleep and has made me conscious of the quality and quantity of my zzzzzzs.
I read 2 books. I read 2 books. I read 2 books. Yup, I read 2 books. A grown-up book, The Red Tent by Anita Diamant and a children’s fiction book, Always, Abigail by Nancy Cavanaugh. One of my buddies and librarian friends, Martha, reviewed Always, Abigail for my Summer Slide Series. Check out her review here. I would love to write a review for The Red Tent, it is an incredible story – historical, Biblical, empowering.

I wore a couple of outfits to school that I really enjoyed wearing but want to save them for a post for My Fashion Haus. So hope you will come back for that.

The drive to work is kinda long…compared to what I used to drive, around 23 miles vs. 5 miles BR (before retirement). But that view, that VIEW! Makes the extra miles all the more worthwhile.
