Fashionistas, welcome!
Spent the morning in My Fashion Haus (which is actually our upstairs guest bedroom), playing dress-up and photographer for my “Create28” prompt ‘Pinned It and Did It’. It was fun shopping the outfits I had pinned to My Fashion Haus board, in search of a look I had either tried in the past or could create with pieces in my closet. These are the three pins I set aside to consider as my pinsperation for today’s post.
My PC had a baseball game today and the forecast was for an afternoon high of 105 so I begged off of going and took advantage of a morning at home to pick my outfit and try it on. I decided to go with the chambray shirt, black blazer and white denim. Before pulling my own pieces together, I create a layout on Polyvore.
Then I got down to business. I collected my Apt. 9 black blazer from Kohl’s, my softened chambray shirt and white denim jeans from Loft, my silver cuff from my sister-in-law Metra, and a mixed-metals chain necklace/earrings set from my friend Bea. Oh, and my black Apt. 9 pumps from Kohl’s. I wish I had a Michael Kors (or a cheaper facsimile) wristlet to pull out of my closet but I could be in there all day looking for one and still come out empty-handed. Lastly, I grabbed a few little prompts to continue the Paris theme from my Polyvore collage.
Here’s the flat layout I created.
Then came time to try it all on.
Kinda like this one. And when PC came home from his baseball game, he kind of liked it, too. I think leopard shoes would work well to jazz things up a bit. Maybe a heavier chain necklace would be an alternative, too. Oh, and for those of you who sometimes hit up happy hour after work (or before? there have been days in my professional career where that would have been a distinct possibility), changing to flats could dress down this look a bit. Flats for work, heels for happy hour – or vice versa.
If you like this look, it is certainly an easy one to pin and do. And I even took the liberty of doing a little shopping for you below.
If you happen to recreate this look or something like it, I would love to share YOUR version. Just let me know in a comment below or email me, girls…mommyhon333@hotmail.com.
So what prompts are coming up the rest of this week and then for “Create28 Week 4” as we wind up the series? Thank you for asking! I happen to have those graphics right here.
In looking over the rest of the prompts, I can easily do tomorrow’s mustard (better get busy, huh?), maybe the lovely lace, maybe the 4th of July, and super stripes, but I can’t do easy espadrilles unless I go shoe shopping. That brings me to…
THE QUESTION OF THE POST: Question: Is it justifiable that I go shopping for espadrilles in order to link-up my look with Whitney on the 28th? That should be an easy question for you, gals. Answer below in a comment, please. And you know which answer to put.
Thanks for coming by today. If you have a “Create28” look you would like to share, join our link-up and recap Wednesdays on The Blended Blog and be sure to share your pics on Instagram and Twitter using #theblendedblogstyle.
Want to leave you with some photos of my beautiful (inside and out) sister (in-law) Greta in an Asian-inspired look.
Thank you, Greta, for sharing. This outfit is so YOU. The lovely colors, the Asian inspiration. Beautiful. Love you, and see you SOON, for some shopping and girl time!!
Thanks for stopping by for my “Pinned It and Did It” prompt post. Wishing you all a peaceful week.
Hugs and kisses,
Mary
Love this look you put together, and yes, it’s def. ok to shop for new shoes!
I’m loving the shorter hair-are you liking it?
Leslie Clingan
Thank you for your comment on my hair. I am enjoying the ease of short hair, although I never did anything to make wearing long hair complicated. Shampooed it. Ha! Shoe shopping now.
Sharon

You totally totally nailed it! And I really liked walking through the process with you! This look is so very classic and chic. I think I could recreate it, too! And I love that you planned to the last detail and added a little Paris flare in your collage!

Thank you. Wore this outfit to see James Taylor on a 100+ evening. HOT! But felt put together, if a little wilted.

Tried the leopard heels with it when we went to James Taylor. Added a bit more sass!

Yes to the espadrilles, I have been contemplating for some time to get a pair…I think this is a perfectly good reason why…

Just realized I had pinned about 900 pairs of espadrilles on Pinterest last year. Time to shop!!!
