Fashionistas, so glad you are here!
Today is another TBB “Style Perspectives” link-up with the gals from The Blended Blog. Sheila from Making the Most of Every Day created today’s prompt, a graduation look. Be sure to run by the TBB to check her out and then stop by the blogs of all of the TBB contributors and other gals linking-up with us today to see how they styled this prompt.
Before we move forward, let’s step back just a sec to revisit everyone’s blazer, tee, tennies interpretation from last week.
Yikes, let’s bury that pic of me and my bowl cut and move on. Pronto!
Although I don’t have any graduations to attend, I kind of like this little get-up (thanks, Sheila) so might have to attend graduation somewhere for some random someone just to be able to wear this out. Or maybe this could also work as a church outfit? That would be a lot less complicated. Heck, I go there on Saturday!
So, ummm, I shopped my closet for this look.
Ok, that’s a white lie.
I shopped my closet for the earrings. Ha!
Just kidding, I shopped my closet for everything but the little blush jacket. And I bought it because I had been visiting it at H&M for about two months waiting for it to go on sale. Didn’t happen. No sale. But by signing up for email sale notices should they have one at H&M, I got 20% off. Close enough to a sale for me. Terry striped dress is Loft Outlet from last spring but on clearance now, Loft Outlet metallic striped scarf, Payless wedge sandals, Charming Charlie ‘pearl’ and ‘diamond’ earrings.
As you probably know by now, especially if you stopped by for the “Style Perspectives” post in mid-April, I like some pattern-mixing. You can see evidence of it in that little cardi, tee, jeans and statement necklace outfit I dared wear for our April 13 post, here. But in this graduation outfit, I am really liking the texture-mixing I have going on. Seems like it makes things more interesting. The woven sandals, gauzy scarf, the terry dress, the pique fabric in my jacket, even the nubbiness (is that a word?) of my earrings.
Love! Even if I do say so myself. And apparently so did Purrsimmony.
She also liked the taste of all that texture. Sim was nibbling my sandal until I scolded her. I chased that little rapscallion out of the fashion haus and tried on the outfit, kitty fur and all the trimmings.
Yuppers, I like it. Can you see PC lurking behind me in the mirror? He thought I was upstairs getting changed for the gym when I was really playing dress-up in the fashion haus. Ya can’t leave me alone for a minute. So when he came up to check on me, I put him to work.
I liked this outfit sooo much, that after PC got his gym clothes on and went downstairs, I continued to take more pics.
Or was I just stalling to keep from going to workout? At any rate, I remembered this quote…
…then saw these pictures of my bowl cut again and dropped the camera like a hot potato. And into my gym clothes I jumped.
So now it’s time to run by the blogs of the other TBB contributors to see how they styled this graduation look prompt.
Now it’s your turn!
Join the TBB gang by linking-up pictures of a graduation look from your blog or by snapping a pic of your graduation look to share on one of the social media outlets using the hash tag #theblendedblogstyle.
Then come back next week for our last “Style Perspectives” link-up, featuring navy/nautical stripes. Question: Do you believe that old wive’s tale that horizontal stripes make one look wider? Do you wear stripes? Come back next week to find out if I do!
Happy Hump Day and, of course, hugs and kisses,
Andrea Nine
LOVE the colors, the stripes, the scarf…YOU!!! You’re such a stunner and class act!!! Beautiful ensemble!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Andrea. I really felt confident in this outfit and look forward to wearing it for reals!!

I wish I could be there for sweet Jacob’s graduation. I am absolutely so proud of the great kid he is. I will be there in spirit and maybe I can wear
this outfit here in his honor. XOXOX
Nicole
I love the entire outfit. So put together. I should have shown my details, I always forget. That coat though – it steals the show:)
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, sweets. I love the jacket. Even though it went on sale two weeks after I bought it at full price.
I am envisioning it with distressed jeans and a grey or white tee, too. What do you think?
Shaunacey
Oh this is so pretty! Love the pink Jacket… Might have to hit up H&M myself!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thanks, sugar! Every time I go into H&M, I am the oldest thing in there. But I keep going back and finding cute things that are somehow ME even if I am 58.
Deena
I would way rather plat dress up than go to the gym. Love the colours and your hair and makeup look fab too!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Wow, I have never had compliments on my hair or makeup. Thank you so much!
Sharon
Haha love your post! You look great and you wear stripes well! I think it depends on the size of the stripe and even patterns that can make me look bigger. If I’m ever in question I take a quick pic and it helps me decide. Never stripes on the bottom half for me! 🙈
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Absolutely, the size of the stripes matters. This week we are wearing a nautical look with stripes. I refuse to stripe my butt but will striped my
“girls” again!
Sarah @ Foxy's Domestic Side
That jacket…gorgeous! And can I just tell you how much I love you? I look forward to reading your posts each and every day…well you don’t post everyday, but the days that you do it just brings a smile to my face lovely lady. I love all the things we are actually doing when our significant others think we’re doing something else, hehe.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, Sarah!!! Thank you so much, baby girl. I appreciate those sweet words so very, very much. And please know that I love you and YOUR posts. Reading about your darling babies, coveting your beautiful hair, wishing PC would take pics for me like your Mr. does for you. Big, big hugs!!
Andrea@WellnessNotes
Great outfit! The dress, the scarf, the jacket – I love them all and they go so well together! And they are fabulous separates!
Hope you’ll come up with an occasion to wear the outfit soon!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I think I will wear this to church next week…hope we go! I wore YOUR yellow cardi and blue and white striped dress ensemble yesterday and loved it.
Christy
I love the touches of pink. Great look with or without the jacket!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you! I always feel safest with a jacket or cardi to cover things up!!
Whitney @ Whitney à la mode
I really love the color combination that you went with. Pink and grey is one of my favorites! But I especially loved the kitty photobomb 🙂
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you! I love pink and grey, too, but rarely wear them. Isn’t my Purrsimmony just the cutest little lady?
LISA
What a cute dress! I will say it again – you always make me laugh.

That is about the sweetest thing you can say, Lisa. I am glad to bring a smile to you. Thank you so much.
Katie
Leslie, this is the perfect look!! Love it all especially the shoes! And like you mentioned, great for work and church too!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Yay! Thank you, baby girl. I really felt confident in this…now to wear it out of the house. Ha!
Carrie
Gorgeous color palette, Leslie + it’s SO pretty on you. I love everything you put together here. This longer jacket is just the bomb! btw – I think the Spanish proverb might have had an origin from the book of Proverbs. Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Awww, Carrie! Thank you so much. You know, when I saw this quote, I attributed it to the Bible but this particular image was attributed it to a Spanish proverb! Ha!
Maybe because they adapted the language a little? Thank you for sharing the original source!!! XO
Lana
Oh, this outfit is SO pretty, and you look gorgeous in it! Love the colors, the stripes, the shoes – everything. You are welcome to come to Washington and attend Thomas’ graduation :)!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, sweetie pie. LOL, I have been invited to a couple of graduations now, in order to be able to wear my outfit. Wish I had the money to pop in up there
for Thomas’ grad and then on to Kentucky for my nephew’s. XO
Sheila DelCharco
What a fabulous outfit! I love the whole thing! Those colors are so pretty on you! Now I want to go to H&M…
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I am often the oldest shopper in H&M but I love some of their things. Hope I am not being age-inappropriate!! Thank you, Sheila.
Jill
I’d rather play dress up than go to the gym too! This is such a gorgeous outfit! I love your blush jacket and the stripes! You look so pretty!
