Hey girls!
We are into the fourth and final week of The Blended Blog’s “Create28” series and today’s prompt, lovely lace, is being styled by Lisa from Daily Style Finds. When I was playing dress up and planning my ‘pinned it and did it‘ prompt for week 3, I created a couple of different looks. Coincidentally, for one of them I wore a lace tee. Are you thinking what I’m thinking…yup, I can use that look for today’s post. Consider it done!
I began with this lace tee and floral skirt look I had pinned to “My Fashion Haus” board on Pinterest. You can check out that board, here.
Actually, this look could work for next Tuesday’s ‘minty-mint’ prompt, too. I love the soft colors of the floral skirt. And that midriff lace top…oh, to be young again. Onceuponatime, I had a midriff, too. Working hard now to rediscover it but don’t think it will ever be bare-able again.
I decided to play around on Polyvore to recreate this look in a version better suited to a 58-year-old grandmother.
Then came the moment of truth, shopping my closet for the pieces I needed to put this prompt together. And then trying it on and hoping the skirt still fit. I was so excited to get dressed up that I forgot all about taking pictures of a flat layout first.
Floral skirt from Lapis, white lace tee and bright pink cardigan from Loft Outlet, nude peep-toes from DSW, earrings from Charming Charlie.
Up close and personal.
I wore this outfit to church last Saturday night and then afterward to our Father’s Day dinner at Outback Steak House. I tried several different colored cardigans and could easily change this up by pairing it with a mint, or pale purple or soft pink (rose quartz?) sweater instead of the bright pink.
Want to share something I noticed in front of Outback – ha, that sounds kind of funny. Look closely at the sign on the far right side of this photo.
I guess the sign is kind of hard to make-out but it says “Reserved Combat Wounded”. We are not regular Outback patrons, have only been to this restaurant once before. But in a town like El Paso where we have a large military population and sadly, along with that, a large number of combat wounded soldiers, I love that they have been given a special reserved parking place at the front door of this restaurant.
So, that’s it, girls. Short and sweet tonight. I am going to even give you a reprieve from the question of the post. Kinda tired. Kinda bummed.
Here are the prompts for the rest of the challenge. Please join us, won’t you. Pick a prompt and share on our Wednesday link-up or to Insta and Twitter with #theblendedblogstyle.
Tomorrow I leave to go back to Houston to help Lauren, Francisco and Lucia prepare to move to Albuquerque. I hope to be able to carve out a little time for blogging when I take breaks from helping them pack and snuggling baby girl. Wishing all of you a rosy week’s end and weekend!
Hugs and kisses,

Have safe travels!! You are such a great mom/grandma, always helping out! 🙂 I love this floral skirt and lace top combo. I have a lace top and a floral dress… Maybe I can tuck the top of the dress in and get this cute look!

I really like the outfit! The mint green in the skirt looks wonderful with the bright pink cardigan! And the lace top is very pretty, too.

Thank you, sweetness. Can’t wait to get hugs and kisses from my girls but hate leaving my PC behind. He will join us for the ‘fun’ of moving on Tuesday, though! XO
