And yes, I realize that today is Thursday but I am just getting caught up on my blog reading after being out of town last week, so I am just coming across their great Tuesday Twosday post today/twoday. Furthermore, this is going to be quick because I have just poured a glass of (sweet) Outlaw Red wine and will be watching the final (tearful) episode of Parenthood in a few minutes.
That being said, here is my Confident Twosday outfit on Thursday. I worked again today as a substitute librarian at Cielo Vista Elementary School. Coincidentally, I subbed for Kay Jackson who used to sub for me at Moye. Crazy how life takes twists and turns. That sounds like lyrics from a country song.
Today I wore straight leg, khaki pants from the Loft, a blue oxford cloth, button-down blouse from Land’s End, deep plum-y purple, pull-over sweater from Loft, Payless tortoise shell pumps and Charming Charlie’s tassel necklace and earrings.
This pullover sweater was something I bought for the Style Me Pretty Work Wear Challenge early this past fall. It still had the tags when I took it out of the closet this morning. Before participating in Alison Lumbatis’s Challenges, I would never have put a blue shirt under a purple sweater.
And truth be told, I was a little nervous about this combo when I put it on so I started trying different scarves with blues and purples to try to tie the two colors together. But all of the scarves I tried just seemed like too much…the colors worked but I didn’t like the business of the patterns, or the weight of the fabric or the length of the scarf.
Then I remembered this great tassel necklace Lauren gave me for Christmas. It changes colors depending how the light reflects off of it and it worked. It seems to have flecks of blue and and sparkles of purple. Just what the fashionista ordered.
I felt happy today. Happy to be back among books and babies in an elementary school library. Happy to be making a little (bitty bit) of money. Happy to have a purpose, a reason for getting up this morning.
And now, my friends, Parenthood awaits.
Hugs and sticky kisses,
