Fashionista friends, welcome to Ageless Style 06.2025: La Tropical Edition. Today’s prompt, tropical prints, comes to us from Mireille at Chez Mireille. You might remember part of my spring bucket list and goals was to clean our bedroom and closet. I was just pondering what I would wear for this month’s prompt when I (re-)discovered a couple of tropical print pieces hanging in my closet. Well, hello!! Both of them are dresses I bought for my brother’s wedding last June but wound up buying a third dress – the one I wore – when his bride told everyone their wedding colors were blue and pink.

If you’ve been shopping lately, online or brick and mortar, you have no doubt seen tropical prints making a return for this summer season. When I think ‘tropical,’ I think bright colors and big floral prints featuring gigantic blooms and lush greenery. Loving green the way I do, I think all tropical prints must have a big splash of green in their palette. Here are some of the tropical looks I’ve seen around El Paso.
But it doesn’t come more tropical than this black and white look.

So, rather than being about the palette, I guess the ‘tropical trend’ is more about the vibe, and the print. The fabric is

Something about all of these tropical prints has me wanting to show off my little bit of Spanish. I have been doing Duolingo in Spanish for over 250 days so I had to practice using mi español aqui!! Even though I continue studying Spanish, I don’t have many opportunities to use it unless I am substitute teaching.
Bought the tropical print dress I am featuring today at Loft last spring.
I like the contrast between the classic lines of this shirt dress and the tropical print and the vibrant colors. These orangey-peaches and shades of green are my favorite colors. The shades I gravitate to most.
The fabric is seersucker but not a cotton seeksucker; almost feels like silky and is very lightweight. But the dress is completely lined with a soft peach fabric.
PC suggested we go out to dinner on Saturday night so we got cleaned up and went to Olive Garden. So many of our favorite restaurants are half-way across town but we finally have an Olive Garden just a few miles away.
It was 105* or something awful like that but I was very comfortable in my dress. Surprisingly, even comfortable with the AC in the restaurant. After we ate, PC indulge me in a few pictures among the palm trees in the parking lot.
Because of my dumb heel, I have given up wearing high heels for the most part. Will have to evaluate my boots when cold weather arrives. I picked up these strappy raffia sandals with kitten heels at Target on clearance. They are surprisingly comfortable and I had no trouble walking in them.
Looking forward to wearing this dress again in the near future. It was cool, comfortable and best of all – it doesn’t have to be ironed!! Gotta love that. Are you trying the tropical print trend this summer?

Your Turn
We are on our fifth day of heat advisory conditions in El Paso. Triple digit highs. And the advisory continues through the upcoming weekend. Doesn’t inspire me to want to do much. Although, we did get the house cleaned up, and have floated in the pool every day this week. Today I started working on a patriotic flag painting craft which was lots of fun.
Thank you for popping in to check out my la tropical edition of Ageless Style. Next month, our theme will ‘beat the heat’ as selected by Amy. I asked if we could style our birthday suits but haven’t heard back on the group’s final ruling on that. Hope you will join us with your favorite beat the heat go-to outfit. Mark your calendars to link up with us on 07.17.2025.
Off to bed. We have been staying up later this week but I am dragging tonight. Sweet dreams!!
Hugs and kisses,

I love that dress; it’s so pretty and I love dressier outfits that don’t require ironing! Those sandals are adorable.
Thank you so much!! This dress was one of the really good buys!! Then I broke my heel and forgot all about it. I do love that it is wrinkle-free and so cool. Need to wear it weekly!!
So you’ve been seeing tropical prints in the stores too? So have I! I absolutely love your dress. It is so pretty. How nice to have a tropical background to feature it too!
You look lovely in that summary dress and any dress that is also good in both 105 heat and air conditioning deserves lots of wears. So nice you have the pool to help survive your heat wave.
LOL thank you!! I need to wear the tail off that dress. So glad I rediscovered it in the closet. I was so grumpy about my foot and the prospect of never wearing heels again but I am back in low heels and back to loving dresses!!
What a pretty dress! I love that color palette too! Our little town just added an Olive Garden. I don’t go there often, typically only when we are traveling but I do enjoy their food. I am never disappointed.

Oh, you look absolutely radiant in this tropical print! I can see why PC wanted to take you out to dinner…he wanted to show everyone his beautiful date! I have to say, I love that black and white look…I think I might be able to replicate it!

Awww, I love your sentiment but I think PC was just hungry for Italian!! Ha!! Hope you try the black and white tropical look. I bet you can replicate it with pizzazz.
That is such a pretty dress on you! Love the pink tropical print! The palm trees in the background are perfect for the outfit!

I love this dress on you, and the sandals are the perfect pairing. I love tropical prints, they’re just so summery! Well done on the Spanish. You never know when a language may come in useful. Thanks for linking at #TuesdayTwirl!
