Fashionista friends, welcome to Ageless Style 03.2025: Faux Fur and Marshmallow Fluff. Today’s prompt comes to us from Jodie at Jodie’s Touch of Style who suggested we style something fluffy. As we bid adieu to winter, I am glad to wear a little fur and fluff one last time. If you missed it, you can find my last Ageless Style post, here, where the girls and I were sharing Valentine colors.

Ageless Style 03.2025
My fluff for today’s prompt comes in 2 forms. I wore both of the looks I am sharing in the first month of the new year. We had a early smaple of spring from the middle to the end of February, but winterish weather has returned this weekend. I think I will pull out one of these fluffy outfits to wear to church tomorrow as our morning temps will be in the 30s. Kind of nice to be able to wear them again before it becomes too warm once and for all.
Fluffy Faux Fur
First up, the fluffy faux collar of my thrifted Talbot’s vest. My BFF Sharon bought this vest first and she looked so pretty in it with her olive complexion and darling bob haircut. She styled the vest as a possible option for New Year’s Eve, I think. When she sent me photos of a couple of the outfits she was considering, I fell in love with her vest. When I checked the Talbots website (our store went out of business a year ago), the vest was no longer available. Boo!! Which was actually probably a blessing because I feel pretty sure I wouldn’t have been able to afford it unless the price was drastically reduced. They did have this silver metallic vest that is also very chic but I really wanted the gold one like Sharon’s.
Found It!!
Not to be deterred, I decided to make the rounds of all of the popular online thrifting outlets in search of the vest. Threds Up, Mercari, and Poshmark. My efforts were rewarded when I found the vest on Poshmark for $40!! I think it even qualified for free shipping. It was meant to be!! My vest didn’t arrive until after NYE which was okay because we didn’t go out to welcome the new year in anyway. Instead, it arrived the day before Cami’s 5th birthday. Knowing how that girl loves sparkle and bling and all things feminine, I knew it would be perfect to wear the vest to celebrate our little diva.
I paired my vest with a white gold sequined top from H&M I have had for several years. The top is lightweight so wearing the vest over it provided some warmth.
Added dark wash denim and Michael Kors leopard pumps I picked up for a lark at my favorite local thrift shop, Uptown Cheapskate.
With all of that going on, I really didn’t need jewelry but chose some beaded snowballs earrings.
Posing here before my cocoa bar. Having a hot cocoa night with the family is an activity on my winter 2025 bucket list but it didn’t happen. We drank Swiss Miss powdered cocoa mixed in hot water but that doesn’t count!!
PC might have suggested I was slightly overdressed for a 5-year-old’s birthday party. I explained it was a ‘girl thing.’
And as I had hoped, Cami was taken with my festive outfit and complimented me on my glitter. She even granted me a wish, dressed in her new Glenda outfit complete with magic wand. My broken foot felt better right away.
The birthday was a delicious celebration from the McDonald’s cheeseburgers, nuggets and fries to the tasty Walmart birthday cake.

And I don’t think Cami Jean had any doubt that she was the belle of the ball and loved by all.
In 10 days, we will be celebrating big sister Lucia’s ninth birthday. Now to decide what to wear that would speak to that baby girl. Gabba in a kitty costume would probably dazzle her. Wonder if I can pull that off?
Marshmallow Fluff
You may have seen my marshmallow fluff jacket in last month’s post. When I put together my outfit for February’s Valentine colors prompt, we were going out for date night.
The prompt called for creating an outfit with reds and pinks but it was very chilly that evening. I subbed in my hot pink blazer for my marshmallow fluff jacket at the playhouse, which is always frigid!! It had been awhile since I had worn my jacket. Had forgotten how much I loved wearing it. Like a wearable hug.
I kind of like it with the winter white cords, how ’bout you?
I was glad PC encouraged me to take both the blazer and the jacket on our date. He knows I am always, always cold. Used the jacket as a blanket over my lap and was toasty warm.
This little bit of fluff might have to accompany me on our Alaskan cruise in May. Apparently, there are 2 formal-ish nights on our ship. I don’t know how cool/cold it will be in the evenings walking about the ship. This jacket might be just what I need for those evenings.
Now, let’s go see the fluff my friends have fashioned for this month’s challenge.

Your Turn
You are invited to play along, too!!
Trying very hard to get my blog posts written before the 11th hour each day. I am typing this one over a week ahead of time. Unbelievable, right? That goes well until you get a fatal error message on your blog and you can’t even access your admin page. Had a really rough week with my blog last week and considered just tossing in the towel. But I didn’t.
I have about a half-dozen posts in the works. And about the same number of books going at the same time. Which reminds me, I need to put together a Title Talk post, too!
Thank you for stopping by. Do you have a bit of fluff or maybe something in faux fur that you enjoy wearing? One year, Lauren gave me a darling faux fur scarf and cap combo. I need to remember to wear that…or maybe take it on the cruise?
Enjoy your weekend, friends. My Ft. Worth fam is coming into town and we are having an early Easter. I’ve talked to the EB = Easter Bunny and he is going to visit us ahead of schedule when we are all together. So accommodating!!
Hugs and kisses,

I think you should take your sparkly top on the cruise, too! I love your cute outfits!
Ha!! Hadn’t thought of taking the sparkle on the cruise. I have been fussing over what to wear for the fancier dinner nights. I read so many conflicting things about how dressy is DRESSY!! Maybe I will slip it in my suitcase. Thank you, sugar foot.
I love both your fuzzy or furry pieces. How great you were able to find that vest secondhand. And I think a glittery top is the perfect outfit to wear to a little kids party. Your granddaughter is so pretty.
Love both of these options!!!! A vest like that is a staple. Mine is like 15 years old and I still wear it every year in the fall/spring as the weather turns. I liked how you elevated it by adding it to a more dressy outfit, perfect for a celebration. Cami, I am sorry but you stole the show. I want a Glenda dress too! Birthdays are such a wonderful time to gather and reflect on how quickly time truly is passing by with out little people.

Isn’t that Glenda gown superb? Cami did indeed steal the show. As she should have being the birthday princess and all. Thank you for your sweet words. I think the fur vest might have to come on our cruise!!
I love that you dressed up for the party: I am sure your granddaughter was over the moon with the sparkly sequins in your top. That is a fun vest for sure. I do have a puffy navy vest with a similar hood: I haven’t worn it the past two years, but I still like it and have kept it.

Oh, girl!!! You look fabulous in the fit, gold, and glitter!!! There’s no such thing as overdressing for a birthday party (unless it’s a pool party). Love your marshmallow whip coat, too. I often use a coat as a blanket in a restaurant.

Thank you, Marsha. You make me laugh and I love you for that.
Oh I love both these outfits! You definitely knocked fuzzy and furry out of the park.
Thank you!! I like both pieces and in cleaning my closet – need to do that more often – discoverd some additional furry/fuzzy stuff!!
I love your festive outfit! That metallic vest is so cute and I’m sure it is nice and cozy too. Your fuzzy jacket will be great for colder weather. I’m jealous of your upcoming cruise! It sounds so amazing!
Thank you, doll. I really had fun wearing the vest and the spangles for my baby’s birthday. She loved all the sparkle.
Gosh i love both examples. And I think that’s especially smart to find the same item on poshmark, etc….

Jodie
I’m so glad you were able to track down that vest! I love it! And your granddaughter is darling! I hope she had a wonderful birthday! Love your cozy marshmallow coat too! Might be great to take on the cruise!
Jill – Doused in Pink
I got a good laugh at the idea of too dressed up for a 5 year old girl’s birthday party – I’m not sure there is any such thing (as long as you don’t upstage the birthday girl, which is also probably not possible)! Love both of these fuzzy pieces on you.
Love the outfits…I am definitely more smitten with Winter clothes than Summer clothes…Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you enjoy the weekend!!
Hugs,
Deb
