Fashionista friends, welcome to Ageless Style 02.2025: Valentine Colors. Today’s prompt comes to us from Jenn at JoyfulJenn.com who suggested we style pinks and reds, Valentine colors. You can find my last Ageless Style post, here, where the girls and I were sharing our winter blues.

Ageless Style 02.2025
I was determined to shop my closet for this month’s challenge. And for the most part, all of my Valentines looks did come from that inner sanctum. But when this red and pink Night Bloom V-neck blouse went on sale at Loft, I told myself I needed it. And clicked on ‘place order.’ It is very pretty in person and the fabric is so lightweight that I will be able to wear it spring and summer, too. I wore it on our Valentine’s Day date paired with these whisper white straight cords also from Loft.
We were going out to dinner and then taking in a play at the often drafty and always chilly El Paso Playhouse. So I was torn between wearing a blazer and a fuzzy bomber to stay warm. Our afternoons have been in the spring weather range – highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. I didn’t want to be hot but didn’t want to be cold either.
PC helped me decide on the hot pink blazer. I thought I bought it on Poshmark but in looking through my consignment purchases tonight there wasn’t a blazer. Strangely, when I wore it for our date, I realized it has my name written inside of it on the label. I don’t know where I got it!! But there’s no doubt it’s mine!!
Actually, I wore the pink blazer but took the fuzzy bomber along for the ride, too. And I was glad I did. I used it as a blankie in the theater!!
For additional play on the red and pink theme, I wore suede lace up ballet flats with lace knee highs for a bit of romance on the day of
VD Date Night
We hadn’t planned anything for Valentine’s Day date night until I was writing my Duke’s Mixture post (did you catch it a few days ago?) and remembered there was a new production at the playhouse. I think attending was even on my Winter 2025 Bucket List and Goals – for which I owe an update. Not enough hours, days, weeks to get everything done. So I bought tickets to the play and PC treated us to dinner at Red Lobster, which has always been his family’s favorite celebration restaurant. We had Lobsteritas the size of our heads and coconut shrimp. Yum!! Just as we were finishing up, the place became very busy so I was glad we got an early start on dinner.

Didn’t realize until now that “Marvin’s Room” was also a movie by the same name produced in 1996 and starring a cast of well-known actors, Meryl Streep, Leonardo DiCaprio, Diane Keaton, and Robert De Niro.
The play was interesting. A little long. A little sad. At intermission, several members of the audience left, leaving the theater only about a third full. I wondered if the actors noticed. And knew that I would have been distressed and wounded if I had been them. This is the synopsis of the movie/play:
Bessie (Diane Keaton) and Lee (Meryl Streep) are sisters who have remained apart for nearly 20 years due to radically different personalities and life paths. Bessie remained in Florida to care for their ill, bed-ridden father (Hume Cronyn), and Lee moved to Ohio to marry and have a family. But Bessie’s doctor (Robert De Niro) has informed her she has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. Bessie’s prognosis and Lee’s troubled son (Leonardo DiCaprio) create an unexpected family reunion. [source]
We didn’t get home until almost 11:00 pm, which was way past our usual bedtime. When I woke up the next morning, I found a text from Lauren saying we had had an earthquake about the time the play was ending and we walking out of the theater to meet the actors. We have had several aftershocks and now 3 more mini-earthquakes today. Kinda scary.
More Reds and Pinks
I broke out all of VD themed clothing over the week before the official day. Here are some of the other outfits I wore. A graphic tee and cardi and jeans would be my day-to-day uniform – ha – when I am not in sweats!! I have 2 Valentine graphic tees that I wore.
Wore my Valentine chickens with a cropped red cardi from Old Navy and jeans, and my red flats. My other graphic tee isn’t exactly Valentine’s Day themed but reads: Kindness. Sprinkle it Around Like Confetti. I paired it with my same pink blazer and dark denim with a rodeo rhinestone belt from Versona and pink flats.
Dusted off an old glittery Valentine sweatshirt from Etsy to wear with jeans and white tennies one day. I love my sweatshirts. And think they are even cute paired with skirts and worn over slip dresses. Although, I haven’t been in shape to wear a slip dress since I broke this dumb foot. Wondering if I will ever be back to wear I was before 08.29.2024.
It was a very nice, low-key Valentine’s Day with my favorite fella. Just the way I like it.

Your Turn
Do wear Valentine colors on Valentine’s Day? Did you enjoy a special February 14th activity this year? Our impromptu date was really enjoyable without a lot of fuss.
If you have a red and pink look to share, won’t you link up with us to share?
As is often the case for me, I had this post almost written days in advance and then somehow half of it was deleted. So much fun. Had to sit down and rewrite it this morning after I stomped around about it last night for an hour before finally going to bed. I do not know how these things happen.
In other technology troubles, I have just purchased my third phone in a year. Woe is me. I know we are so blessed to have food on the table and a roof over heads, clothes on our back, money in the bank, etc. But this technology stuff is taking years off my life. The phone I purchased in 11.2024, shuts off and doesn’t come back on unless I put it in the freezer. That’s convenient, huh? The seller on Amazon refuses to answer my complaints. Amazon is only willing to give me a partial refund. And my new replacement phone is $1100.
Remind me, why did we give up our landline?
Thanks for the visit. Hope you have some YOU-time planned for this weekend. Enjoy!!
Hugs and kisses,

I love that you and PC have day dates. I’m hoping we get back to that someday. Loft always has such cute prints, don’t they? Love all your pink and red looks! You are beautiful just the way you are. Things will get better with that foot, and you will be the gorgeous svelte creature you have been!

How is Nigel feeling? I hope you can get back to day dates or dates any time on a regular basis as the snow melts and we move into spring. You say the sweetest things. Just love your dear, thoughtful heart.
I love all of your pinks and reds and graphic tees and cute shoes!!
Think my days of heels are over. Or at least only for special occasions. Need to take my heels to the consignment shop and build on my flat shoes collection. Thank you!!
You look fabulous Leslie. I love that you shopped your closet (well, mainly, haha) and that you included a bunch of outfits too.
XOXO
Jodie
I love all of these looks! That bright pink blazer is a keeper: I love it with new blouse (it’s very pretty) and I may have to be on the lookout for one while thrifting. Your daily outfits are really cute and that chicken graphic tee is adorable. I am looking forward to wearing my graphic tees again in the spring. I got rid of some and got a few new ones last year so I think I am well prepared in that department. We had a great dinner with the kids at home, steaks by candlelight and a yummy cake. It was a good Valentine’s day evening.

Your Valentine’s Day date night sounds fun! I don’t remember that movie but it sounds great and is probably even better as live theater! All of your v-day outfits are really cute! I love your bright pink blazer!
Jill – Doused in Pink
That is such a pretty shade of pink!
I love it!! Thank you. And thank you for finding my silly blog and taking time to say hi. I am more an earth-tone gal usually but this bright pink really takes me out of my comfort zone.
It sounds like you had a really wonderful Valentine’s day celebration. I love your outfit! All of your festive red and pinks are so cute and fun.
Thank you, sugar foot. It was a very impromtu, very nice Valentine’s Day.
I absolutely love that pink blazer!!!!! It’s just so fun and a statement each time you wear it, right? I have one like it and love wearing it because its such a great piece to stop and chat about, plus you don’t need anything else with it. I also love a good sweatshirt and have been trying very hard to not over accumulate them in my closet as I have no space for all of the things I love, but seasonal sweatshirts are so great to have for teaching and working in a school, plus so cozy. Anyway, I love that you guys went to see a play. I am a big fan of theater and even reading that people left made me squirm and feel bad for the actors. Eeek. Glad that the earthquakes didn’t hurt or damage your home.

Thank you, sugar plum. Aren’t sweatshirts so versatile. I have too many and still want more. I like having them for different seasons, too. And need a new one for my alma mater. The play was great fun and we need to remember to do that each time they have a new production. Love supporting the local arts.
You look so cheerful in this blazer, I love the bold pink!! I have a pale pink blazer, but would love a brighter pink one too!! And your shoes and the lace hose, so, so pretty! I love a mix of textures, etc. Oh, Red Lobster is Nathan’s FAVORITE place to go! And they do stuff you full there! I’m glad you and PC got out for a nice date and you got a bucket list item checked!

Beautiful outfits, Leslie. I especially love the hot pink blazer!
Thank you!! I am usually more an earth-tone gal but saw another blogger wearing a hot pink blazer and decided to step out of my ‘camo’ and comfort zone and try something bold.
Sounds like a nice date night!
Thank you. It was!!
That fuzzy bomber will work great for next month’s theme too! Such pretty Valentine outfits. We didn’t do anything for Valentines because we both have had the flu. February has been a terrible month for us. We’re both still sick, going on 4 weeks of this nonsense, but starting to feel better.
That pink blazer is so good! It’s the perfect bright pink shade!
Thank you, doll!! I love the pink blazer, too. Need to show it more love!!
