Welcome, fashionistas and friends!
Rolling out the cat walk again today for The Blended Blog’s third “Style Perspectives” link-up. To recap, each TBB contributor will be featured on a Wednesday over the next few months styling one of her signature looks. Then the rest of us will create our own interpretations of the featured style. Week one was moi wearing my faux fur wrap and week two had Lisa styling shades of week.
This week, following Sarah’s good lead, we are wearing white. As in white pants…but not to be confused in any way with tidy whiteys – ha, I just realized I have been saying this phrase all wrong!
[source]
Apparently, the whiteys aren’t tidy (I was thinking clean), they are tight. Tighty-whities? Did ya’all know that already? I seem to miss the boat on a lot of these expressions.
Anyway, Sarah blogs at Foxy’s Domestic Side. You can check out her leading look here on The Blended Blog and then hop around checking out how we all wore our white.
Here’s how I styled my tidy whiteys. Well, you know what I mean.
I put my Loft white straight leg denim [similar, similar] together with a navy tee [similar, similar] from Loft Outlet. I decided to add a wrap [similar] from H&M in an Asian-inspired print. Slipped on my Michael Kors sandals and accessorized the look with jewelry from Charming Charlie. I couldn’t decide which chain I liked best but went with the heavier one today.
So, just I was looking at H&M online to provide a link to my chiffon duster and guess what?
My duster isn’t a duster at all. Nope, not a wrap or a cardi, either.
It’s a DRESS!
Ha!
Check it out, here.
And not only that, but it comes in several patterns that I like as well or maybe even better than the one I bought. I foresee another trip to H&M in the near future.
Well, all I can say is you can put lipstick on a pig…

And it looks like this piglet below is expecting a flood (here on the desert?). She has her high-waters on.
But shhh, don’t say anything, cause poor dear is also wearing a dress as a wrap.
Didn’t her mother teach her how to dress?
Maybe this would be a good time for you to link up your favorite white pants look, show her how it’s done. Click on the LinkInz below to join the fun.
And if you don’t blog, you can still play dress up with us by posting your look to FB, Instagram or Twitter and adding the tag #tbbstyle.
Then start making plans for how you will style our next signature piece – a pattern blouse with neutrals.
With that, I am off to bed. We are on baby-watch in my family. Lauren’s first baby is due this Friday, on my BFF Sharon’s birthday. But things are beginning to “stir’ and we are wondering if Lucia is going to debut earlier than expected. I am planning to hop on a plane for Houston the minute Lauren tells me to so if I disappear suddenly for a day or two, I am sure you will understand.
We are taking bets on Lucia’s weight and birth time and day, if you would like to leave your guess below, just for fun.
Please think a good thought or send up a little prayer for my baby and her baby over the next few days until we are all smothering our bundle of joy with love.
Hugs and kisses,
Andrea Nine

Deena
Bahahahaah on the tidy whities and wowza for the duster dress. I love the colours of your outfit! I’m excited for your baby news- I’m going with 7 lb 4 oz. How will you pronounce Lucia?? My Lucia is Lew-sha, like the island.
Sheila @ Making the Most of Every Day
Dang Deena. I’ve been pronouncing it the Italian way in my head. I’ll have to remember the island tip…
Leslie Roberts Clingan
This baby’s Lucia is pronounced Lew-C-uh. Which is the Spanish/Mexican pronunciation. And maybe the Italian, too. My mom, Lucia’s great grandmother has made up her own new pronunciation – Lew-Chee-Uh. I think we are going to need a nickname in a hurry.
Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom
Cute!! I LOVE how you turned the dress into a wrap- how clever!

I always look forward to reading your posts, not only are you funny but I love how you put your outfits together! Your dress looks great as a duster. I’m going to guess 7#6oz, born in the am on 3/20. 😊
LISA
Leslie I am with you – I thought they were “clean” not “tight”. Best post so far I think! I just looked at that duster/cardigan/dress at H&M and was going to do a style board featuring it. You styled it so well – I might steal some of your ideas. Keep us posted on the baby debut.

I have been craving a long cardigan but trying not to buy anything. The open dress is BRILLIANT! Going to try it here soon!
Lana
You always make me smile! And honestly, tidy whiteys works just as well, I think! You look so pretty in this outfit, and I love that your duster can also be a dress :)! Hope everything is going well on the baby front – keeping you all in my prayers!
Sharon

When I read about your tidy whities I wondered if I was saying it wrong. You make my laugh every week. Your duster/dress looks great with the white jeans. Great outfit!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you so much for making me feel less crazy. I am not the only one who wasn’t sure if they were saying that right! Bad enough that I am also wearing a dress for a top!
Sheila @ Making the Most of Every Day
I love the duster/dress over the navy and white! Beautiful pairing and so creative! I’ve seen several people wear a dress as a jacket or even a tunic so you are totally on trend!

Thank you! I really can’t believe I am on trend! But I sure did like wearing my dress as a jacket. Gives a whole new meaning to coat dress. 🙂
Sarah @ Foxy's Domestic Side
Oh love the duster/dress on you! Works out great. You look fantastic as always!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you! I can’t really imagine this dress as a dress, at least not on me. But I felt very comfy in it as a duster! Ooops!
