10 Questions about Vacation
Last month, I had PC play along when we answered questions about summer lovin’. Wish I had thought to have him answer this month, too. I am hoping we will take a vacation somewhere just the two of us in the fall. But read question #1 to find out why that probably won’t happen.
I maybe staying at home but that won’t keep me from having fun this summer. Have a number of fun activities on my summer bucket list to conquer. Check that out here. And I just started my summer photo challenge on Instagram. You can join, too!! Take a pic and post to Instagram or FB using #2018SummerInstaPhotoChallenge. And tag me, too. Here are the prompts for the photos.
We are just on Day 2, flora. Yesterday’s first post of the challenge was easy…so you can certainly jump in now and catch up quickly. Also doing 52Frames and SundayStills with Terri at Second Wind Leisure Perspectives. And have taken a photo or two for the Scavenger Hunt my friend, Debs at Deb’s World. Sounds like I might need a blog post just for showing off photos!!
Your Turn
So, the question is…what are your vacation plans? Are you off to some place for a romantic getaway (if so, I am super jelly) or doing a family vacation this year? Won’t you share in a comment below? Here are the questions to make it a little easier for you to copy and paste and ANSWER!!
Off to take a walk real quick and listen to my virtual book club’s book, Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. Then jumping into the house cleaning. If you are interested in joining our book club, send me a message!! Would love to get you started as we begin our third book of the summer in a few weeks.
Happy Monday!
Hugs and kisses,
Gail
I love your expression “I am busy as a cranberry merchant over here” – never heard that before but you can bet I’ll be using it at work tomorrow. Your PC and Mr Mutton sound very alike with their active holidays! You and I should go off on a cruise with a Mojito in our hands and let them get on with it!

Ooh visiting Germany would be awesome. That’s great you were able to go for a bit while your husband worked. I’d love to go to an all-inclusive resort someday. It sounds so lovely!

Oh, Lauren, you need to grab your sister and the two of you find a Groupon deal for an all inclusive in Mexico somewhere. You won’t want to ever go home!!
Valerie Price
1. Will you go on a a summer vacation this year? Yes to see my favorite sister.
2. Do nothing but relax or a pack it all in vacation? RELAX and scrapbook and hike and shop
3. What month do you like to vacation? June but July this year
4. Cruise: YES or NO? No afraid I will get motion sick.
5. Favorite vacation tradition? My family lacks in any kind of tradition. If I had it to do again, I would create more traditions. Maybe with the grandkids when and if I get some.
6. Most memorable vacation? New Zealand. Beautiful. We took a bus tour and I was very sick with bronchitis/walking pneumonia but had a great time and got relief from a small town doctor. Only missed about one day of activities (The Lord of the Rings tour and the glow worms in the cave) but could handle the loss of those two events and was ready to go again the next day.
7. Pack light or pack it all? All except when we went to the Grand Tetons where I forgot to pack anything for me except underwear and makeup. It was an adventure since there were few stores and record breaking heat. Those are some pictures I don’t necessarily need to scrapbook.
8. Hotel, condo or house? hotel but been in all
9. Favorite thing(s) to eat on vacation? McDonalds Just kidding. Not seafood anything else.
10. Warm or cold destinations. warm not hot, cool not cold
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ok, I am laughing out loud at your answers! That packing for the Grand Tetons was a bit on the light side!! Great jab with the McDonald’s comment! PC must be part Rosebrough-Roberts because he has to have McD’s everywhere we go. Don’t you want to try a cruise??? I really do. I was as motion sick or more so than you were on that ferry from Prince Edward Island! We can hold each other’s hand when we get sick. I love you!

You need to go on that cruise soon, you should make that a goal for next summer and figure out a way to make it work. Have the loveliest of all times having your family in town, that sounds so nice! Brian travels a lot for work and I would love to have visitors when he’s away. I get lonely easy, even with the kids home. It’s just nice to have some adult company. Your sister and you sound like you have such a nice relationship! I wish I had a sister!

I love my sister, Leslie!

I love my sister, Valerie.

Yes, I think I am going to tell PC that we need to put a cruise on the docket for next summer. If I need back-up support, will you help me convince him?
My sister and I have always been close, but are closer now than ever. I really don’t have friends that I go out and do things with so I cherish my time with Valerie. Can’t wait for her to come on Monday. I highly recommend sisters!

I have never heard the Cranberry Merchant comment before – brilliant!
My answers are
Will you go on a a summer vacation this year? Yes. TOMORROW! Going to Lake Garda in Italy
2. Do nothing but relax or a pack it all in vacation? Mostly relaxing but try to explore a bit a few days as well
3. What month do you like to vacation? September is my favourite time
4. Cruise: YES or NO? No. Doesn’t appeal to me at all. My friend who cruises every year tells me if I tried it once I’d be hooked but I’m not convinced!
5. Favorite vacation tradition? My sister has a holiday home in Portugal and when we go there the first thing we always do is just unpack, walk down the hill to the beach, go to the Habana Bar, order a toasted cheese sandwich and a glass of wine and just watch the waves break on the shore. Perfect. That’s when I know the holiday has started!
6. Most memorable vacation? Taking the kids to Disneyland Florida and then driving over to St Pete’s Beach for an extra week.
7. Pack light or pack it all? Surprisingly, I am a light packer! I can even do 4 nights away and get everything in just a hand luggage cabin bag. Did you ever see the episode of Friends where Joey wears loads of layers of Chandler’s clothes? That’s me on the plane 😉
8. Hotel, condo or house? Hotel – I like someone else to cook for me when I’m away.
9. Favorite thing(s) to eat on vacation? I actually eat quite healthily on holiday and often order fish. But I’m about to go to Italy so it will be all about the pasta for the next week!
10. Warm or cold destinations. Warm.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, Debs, I am so glad we are friends. You make me laugh. That is such a delight. Having seeing the Friends episode you are talking about but your comment created a visual for me! I have been known to pack a large brisket (as in meat) and a small television on occasion. PC never knows what I am going to try to sneak onto a plane. Love your tradition of kicking off a holiday.
I like someone else to cook, too, on vacay. The all inclusive packages we had in Cancun and the Dominican Republic were heavenly. All the food!! Hope you are knee deep in Italian pasta right now. Enjoy every precious moment and bite!

I hope you get to go on a cruise!
