Eaters and readers, welcome!
Sharing a photo of my dinner plate tonight in the photo above. Taken just seconds before these heavenly, melt-in-your-mouth angel pork chops were inhaled in little more than one breath. Girls, these are so tender, so flavorful and yet made with ingredients you will surely have on hand because I did!
Grab your crock pot and meet me in the kitchen.
Let’s Get Cooking: Crock Pot Angel Pork Chops
Just home from the library conference yesterday and my Prince Charming took me to Souper Salad for dinner last night. So today I had to get back to cookin’. Stumbled out of bed shortly after 5:00 to do my devotional and then figure out dinner. Searched my favorite cookbook – Pinterest for a crock pot pork chop recipe. Found this seven-ingredient dish originally pinned by Plain Chicken and repinned this morning on my Cooking, Cuisine and Calories board. See the original recipe, here.
This is what you need to gather for this recipe.
Bet you have all of these items on hand, too.
The Recipe
- 4 to 6 boneless pork chops (Ooops, I used bone-in but bone-out would be much better)
- 1 (0.7-oz) packet Italian dressing mix (do not make dressing)
- 4 oz cream cheese (used the lower fat cream cheese, might even work with fat-free)
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 1 (10.75-oz) can cream of chicken soup (used low-fat cream of chicken with herbs)
- 3/4 cup chicken broth or white wine
- 1/2 pound cooked angel hair pasta (used whole grain thin spaghetti)
Directions
Mixing up this recipe took just a couple of minutes. And I didn’t even have to be fully awake to do it!
- Spray crock pot with vegetable spray
- Add pork chops (mine were frozen)
- Mix softened cream cheese, soup and packet of dry Italian salad dressing
- Cut in butter; could probably use less or omit this all together
- Add white wine or broth, I also added about a half-(soup) can of water because I was afraid the gravy would be too thick
Now that I have made this recipe, I probably wouldn’t add the water, or would add less. The gravy was a little on the thin side which probably explains why water isn’t listed in the ingredients. And I am thinking we could probably omit the butter or add less, for sure.
I warmed the cream cheese in the microwave to make it easier to blend. You might want to do that if your cream cheese is straight out of the frig. Warm in 30 second – 1 minute increments until blendable. Pour over the pork chops and set the crock pot on low for 8-10 hours.
Serve over pasta or mashed potatoes. I added broccoli florets to our pasta when boiling so PC would get a green vegetable. Sprinkled the pasta with Parmesan cheese and onion powder.
Dinner is Served
When we got home from work tonight, our house smelled heavenly! Like I had been busy cooking all day long. Prepared the pasta and dinner was served a few minutes later.
This is a photo of my plate but I should have taken a picture of PC’s. He liked this meal on first sight, piling his plate with a hearty helping of pasta and two of the angel pork chops. With his first bite, he pronounced the dish ‘good’. Two or three more bites into the meal and he upped that review to ‘really, really good’.
I served these angel pork chops and pasta with a fruit salad we call green fluff – pistachio pudding mixed with Cool Whip, cottage cheese, pineapple, nuts and sometimes marshmallows, when the mood strikes me.

Sounds yummy. Will add it to my pork line up. Need something non pork. Probably salmon kind of night. Left over Trey pork loin last night.

Several people mentioned using this recipe with chicken. Will try that next time. It was really good. And had enough for PC’s lunch today.

I make a crockpot chicken with the same ingredients! I never thought about making it with pork chops but you have sold me woman! Looks like this might be our Sunday family dinner go to. Yum!

You know, in the comments at Plain Chicken, where the recipe originated, someone mentioned that they make this dish using chicken. I am going to try that myself next time. So glad to know it is equally good that way! Thank you for coming by, sweet thing!
