I hope this finds you curled up, warm and cozy for December’s end. Was your Christmas or Hanukkah all you had hoped it would be? Did Santa bring you love and joy? I hope so. As I type this, my grandbaby Lucia is tucked in snuggly beside me for a nap. She was fussy this morning and her parents needed a little break. Lucia and I spent an hour or so unpacking and setting up my new Christmas phone which wore us both out. Now she is sleeping peacefully for a few moments so I can spend a little time with you.
Pre-Christmas Cozy
Our crazy school district was in session until Friday, December 23 at noon. I would love to know who thought THAT was a good idea. No one had time to do anything to prepare for Christmas, much less go out of town or spend time with visiting family. I had been so concerned about my mom’s health and thought I might be dashing off to Kentucky at any moment. Thankfully, she was released from the hospital on December 19 and has been much better over the past ten days. So both of my daughters were able to come home to be with me for Christmas. And this substitute librarian took two and a half days off to be able to be home with them.
Brennyn arrived on the 21st. I was at the grocery store when they got into town but scurried through the check-out line to get home as fast as I could. This was my cozy Christmas grocery shopping outfit.
My sister ordered the cheetah print Merry Christmas raglan tee for me. Check out Tees to UR Door, here. They have loads of cute things for holidays and everyday wear. I wore my tee with Loft beige cords and my Nordstrom faux leather Moto jacket. Added my animal print flats so my feet would be as comfy as the rest of me while cruising the aisles.
Christmas Va-cay Cozy
Pulled together some other comfy cozy outfits perfect for cuddling over the last few days.
In the top left pic, I am wearing a Loft reindeer sweater I first admired on JoLynne Shane, here. I call it my menorah moose sweater. Paired it with Banana Republic girlfriend jeans and black flats for Christmas dinner. Got to admit, I look a bit the tomboy in this pic.
Wore my Limited fair isle sweater on our quick overnight trip to the New Mexico mountains. Bought it two years ago and have worn it quite a bit, both with cords, jeans and skirts. I was so touched when my beautiful friend Courtney tagged me in a FB pic of her wearing a fair isle. Take a look at this lovely lady.
Love her whole look. I need to dig out my tights and skirt to pair with my sweater again.
Gifted Christmas Cozy
For my last cozy outfit of the post, I give you “how my son-in-law Francisco and daughter Lauren dressed me” for Christmas.
Loft striped top and floral scarf, H&M pique, blush jacket.
I paired my Christmas top and scarf with a pair of relaxed ankle jeans from Loft Outlet. The H&M blush jacket had been hanging new with tags, in the closet since the spring. Would never have thought to wear pink in the winter. But apparently all of the chicest bloggers are donning blush all year ’round. Check out my friend Jill, here, at Doused in Pink (should have known she’d be all about pink 24/7/365). And Sarah at Foxy’s Domestic Side found this cotton candy pink winter coat at Nordstrom. Think I might be wearing more of this jacket in the very near future.
Here’s the whole ensemble adorned by my favorite accessory, Lucia.
And here’s Lucia with the Christmas piggies we bought in her honor.
I took the liberty of pulling together a few exact pieces to mine and a few similar for your shopping consideration. Had lots of compliments on my Christmas present outfit and felt more put-together than I have in months.
So, how do you feel about wearing pastels in the winter? Do you hold to that old fashion adage of packing away white pants (pinks and baby blues) after Labor Day? Would love to see how you’re styling rose quartz, blush and serenity blue this winter. Post a pic on Instagram and tag me @onceuponatimehappilyeverafter!!
Before I go, here’s one last bit of cozy. Lucia wearing her cozy Christmas boyfriend cardi from Target (and grandma).
Now if this girl could just find a boyfriend!
We haven’t had a flake of snow this holiday season but I am hopeful that maybe we will get at least a dusting to ring in the new year. Hope you will be cozy and warm wherever you welcome 2017.
Hugs and kisses,
Andrea Nine

So glad to be in it this week with YOU! I have really enjoyed having my granddaughters here for the holidays, as I am sure you

Looks like you had a beautiful Christmas break! I have a fair isle sweater and I’ve only worn it once since the weather has been pretty mild here. My kids only had 2 and a half days leading up to Christmas and then they go back Wednesday. The grocery store was CRAZY the day before Christmas Eve, I wish I had gone earlier! I had trouble even finding a parking spot and then the carts were almost all gone! eek!

Wow, your school district is worse than mine!! I didn’t think that was possible. I went grocery shopping on the 21st and it was pretty awful then. And they had moved everything in the store. Took forever to find things. What are you guys up to for New Years? We don’t do much but I am hoping we will go
to the movies and dinner, maybe. Kind of a scary night to be out.
Hunt up your fair isle and take a pic!! I want to see!!! XO

The 23rd?! How awful! But you look remarkably put-together for being on vacation! I’ve been living in leggings and t-shirts with very messy hair. But I especially love that reindeer tee. So festive for the season. I’m happy that you are having such a lovely holiday with your family!

Thank you for always stopping by! Your comments mean so much, Whitney. Thank you! When do you go back to school? No matter what the date, I am
sure it will feel too soon. I am glad to have next week, once the company goes home, to just do a few things for me. Happy New Year, dear one! XO
