Hey dolls!
Mighty glad you are here. Today, I am meeting up with Sheila at Making the Most of Every Day and Carrie from A Stylish Fit to share signs of Spring. If you have hopped over from The Blended Blog, welcome!
Signs of Spring, TX
A little concerned because I am not too sure how we are supposed to create an entire post on the signs of Spring. There just aren’t that many. I couldn’t find any online through Google images. So thankful that my sister actually lives outside of Houston and was able to send me some photos she took with her phone of the signs of Spring.
This is one sign of Spring. Welcoming tourists to the Old Town part of this historic railroad community where some turn-of-the-century Victorian-style restaurants and shops are located.
As many times as I have been to Spring to visit my sister Valerie, I have never been to Old Town. But I have often driven by this sign of Spring. Heading to Houston next week. Maybe I’ll finally get to tour Old Town!
Here is another sign of Spring. This sign identifies the subdivision where my sister lives.
Northampton is a lovely area of Spring. But not sure why this sign of Spring would be of much interest to anyone who doesn’t live there or isn’t planning to move there. Wikipedia does feature a short article on Spring but without a single photo of a sign. If you’d like to learn more, please click here.
And that’s all I’ve got. Probably my shortest post ever. Can’t wait to see what signs of Spring my comadres are sharing in their blog posts. And curious just where it is they found them.
Wait a Cotton Pickin’ Minute
Could I have misinterpreted this prompt? Do you think we are supposed to be sharing signs of spring, the season? And not the town? Signs like indications, affirmations, evidence that the spring season has arrived. And not billboards at all?
If so, I can do better than two photos. Why I’ve seen proof all over the place that spring has sprung in El Paso. Just in case that was the intended theme of this post, I will share a few pictures of signs of spring.
Lowe’s in Full Bloom
So anxious to get our pool finished so we can clean up the yard and plant some color! Aren’t these snapdragons magnificent? They were so perky that when pinching them, I had no trouble getting them to say ‘I love you’.
Buds (and Wind) in My Own Backyard
My magnolia is about to bloom. Really cut it back early in the spring but it survived!
Ugh. Would like to think that photo doesn’t look like me. But afraid it does. Just a little windblown.
Do you know what those little buds are in the photo on the far right? Peaches! Oh, girls. What a time we have had trying to grow a peach tree. Last year, TruGreen about killed this little baby with too much TLC and fertilizer. The tree came back toward the end of the summer but we lost all of our peaches. All three of them.
With all the crazy pool business going on, nothing in our yard has escaped being transplanted or trampled on. Our peach tree was almost uprooted when the contractor put in the pad for the filter and pump. But look at her now! We have twelve, yes, 12 peaches!! Might be able to make at least one bottle of peach wine. “Bunny Run Winery” might open this year after all.
Boys of Summer Are Really the Boys of Spring First
Baseball is a sign of winter, spring, summer and fall at our house. PC begins playing baseball in February and finishes the season in October. So we have been balling for a couple of months. But Saturday night we took in our first El Paso triple-A baseball game. Played downtown at our beautiful Southwest University Stadium, THE home of the mighty Chihuahuas.
If you haven’t had your first Clamato, what in the world are you waiting for? So refreshing. Perfect baseball beverage.
The Chihuahuas won last night and the game was followed by spectacular fireworks. And I’ve seen lots of fireworks in my day.
Line at the Car Wash
Everyone seems to be washing their cars. Another sign of spring. Except the winds just keep sandblasting them dirty again. So clean today, dusty tomorrow.
Easter Bobble-Heads, Filet of Fish, Poppies
You know it’s spring when the Easter solar-powered, bobble-heads show up at Dollar Tree. And you know it’s Lent when McDonald’s runs a special on their filet of fish sandwiches, 2 for $4.oo.
And in El Paso, you know it’s spring when the wild poppies return.
Think I’ve covered my bases with both possible takes on today’s signs of spring prompt. Can’t wait to see what Carrie and Sheila are sharing. Join me in bunny-hopping over to their blogs.

Oh yes, the car wash line. Did you know I’m scared if car washes? Yes, I think they are going to suck me up, lol. Beautiful spring signs post by one beautiful lady!

Ha! Bless your heart. I guess I can imagine feeling claustrophobic at least in a car wash. I just love the pretty colors of all the soaps!!

A peach tree would be so fun, but sounds hard to grow! Ha! Our neighbors had one and wow, best peaches I ever had! I would be making a homemade magnolia wreath! 🙂 Not too many signs of Spring here either, except my tulips are about to bloom!

Yay for blooming tulips. I need to look up how to make a magnolia wreath. That sounds very tempting.
Carrie
You are so cute! What a great post…always a fabulous sense of humor. The flowers and baseball = yes it’s Spring!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Carrie, for coming by and commenting. It means a lot to me. Baseball does spell spring, doesn’t it? Love going to the games and having a beer with my PC.
Sheila @ Making the Most of Every Day
Girl, you are too much! Are you this funny in real life?? Seriously! Can’t wait to see your pool all finished! It’s gonna be beautiful! It’s funny that you and Carrie both talked about wind!
Sheila @ Making the Most of Every Day
Oh and we have a peach tree too but the squirrels eat them even before they are ripe!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
We used a net one year to try to save our peaches. So far this year, no one seems interested in eating them. Hope it stays that way.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ha! I don’t think of myself as funny. But love that you do! We are adding water to the pool as I type but have been at it for 28 hours. And nowhere near close to filled. Did the Jumbo Shrimp win?
Lana
Love all your signs of spring – especially the sunshine! It has been in short supply here. When I was visiting my son this weekend, it snowed. Boo! But I know it will eventually arrive!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Cannot believe you guys had snow last weekend. Enough is enough. And I love snow!!

Ah, a beer and clam…the absolute perfect drink for summer indeed. I can’t wait to have cheladas this summer.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I am a beer gal. Love Clamato and cheladas. Nothing better on a hot day. Nothing better on a day. Period.
