Fashionistas, happy HuMp dAy!
Oh, yes it’s true…”My Fashion Haus” is open again. Joining up with the other contributors at The Blended Blog for “New Year Styled” and my buds Whitney and Carrie for “Create 28”. Been getting dressed every single day since the fashion haus last opened the first of the month. But can’t seem to get around to posting pics. I feel kind of silly when I do ‘style’ or ‘fashion’ posts because I don’t look at the way I dress as much more than just than putting on some clothes everyday.
Here are some of the clothes I have put on recently.
“Create 28”: Patterned Pants
Today’s “Create 28” prompt was patterned pants. I had set this outfit toward the front of my closet a few weeks ago so I would wear it. Not necessarily for this prompt, but just because I am trying to wear some of the clothes that don’t make it out of the closet much.
Coming to you straight from the potty…well, bathroom. The colors of this outfit are probably most accurate in this picture.
Patterned pants in gray, black and a little teal blue. The top is a bluish-gray with black trim and the cardi is navy. All three pieces are from Banana Republic several springs ago.
Here are a couple more looks in brighter lighting but the colors look off.
Well, maybe not. These colors are just weird. But my pants ARE patterned, by golly!
“New Year Styled”: Old Pants
This next outfit was one my Prince C. liked. You can tell because he agreed to take my pic without a fuss. My pants are old – no, make that vintage Loft straight leg khakis. Express black utility blouse, Walmart leopard scarf, Kohl’s faux leather bomber.
Not really ‘feeling’ this look myself. What do you think?
Hodge-Podge of Other Outfits
These next pictures are work wear looks I wore to sub in the library this month. None of these pieces are new. Kind of shopping my closet and trying to stay out of the stores these days.
Pink blouse from Banana Republic, gray jeans from Loft Outlet, faux fur from Charming Charlie, gray booties from DSW.
Burgundy boyfriend cardi, floral blouse, mauve jeans from Loft Outlet, burgundy booties from Payless.
Berry cardi and navy and white floral blouse from Loft Outlet, Merona at Target blue skirt, can’t see my shoes or remember them!
Merona at Target cowl neck tunic, Wit-n-Wisdom jeans, gray booties from DSW.
SIA Look: Style Imitating Art
Jen at Librarian for Life and Style does this really cool post called SIA: Style Imitating Art. I have joined her and a group of her friends on several occasions for this style feature. When I saw the art prompt for the most recent SIA, I knew I wanted to participate again. But time got away from me and I forgot to send Jen my pics. For this round, we were using the 1922 Georgia O’Keeffe painting called “Pond in the Woods”.
Here’s Jen with her interpretation of that painting seen in the middle photo.

And here’s what I put together but forgot to share.
Black patterned pants from Loft, gray polka dot tunic from Loft Outlet, gifted floral scarf from Loft, black pumps from Kohl’s.
Not sure why my right cheek looks like it has a pleat starched and ironed into it. Allergies? Sinus issues? Impending 59th birthday?
My Personal Favorite
While I like getting dressed up, wearing skirts or dress pants and heels, I also love my jeans, tees and tennies. We celebrated the 100th day at school about a week ago and this was the tee shirt everyone wore that day.
Casual spirit Fridays are the best.
So there you have it…a plethora of outfits for February. A virtual cornucopia. A profusion. An overabundance. Can you tell I am using the online thesaurus here?
My FitBit says it’s time for bed. So off I go. Wishing you a fashionable week’s end. And thankful that you took a few moments to join me in “My Fashion Haus” today.
Hugs and kisses,
Whitney a la mode
I think you nailed every one of these outfits! I’m so impressed! I think I feel good about every other outfit I wear. Haha. And your spirit day look is SO cute!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Whitney. I think my favorite outfit of all was the one with our 100 days of school tee.
Andrea
I think your outfits are all very stylish! I really like every one of them! And I’m once again reminded that I need a leopard print scarf… I like the outfit PC likes best as is, but I wonder if you would like it more with different pants perhaps?
And how cool is the Style Imitating Art series? So fun. And you put together a fabulous outfit for it! I want that scarf, too… Yes, I have a scarf problem! 🙂
Happy Wednesday dear Leslie!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I am not crazy about those khaki pants either. Are they too baggy looking? Or what is it? I never wear them but I don’t really know why I don’t like them. Jen and the other librarians do Style Imitating Art once a month, I think. I hope to remember to join them again in March.
Laura
I am such a fan of printed pants! I think they add so much interest to a look. You should wear yours more often! They are really cute! Love how your outfit came out for the Style Imitating Art one! That blouse and scarf are pretty together!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I think I need some more subtly printed pants for work. They look more professional, than some of my cords and colored jeans. I am always afraid the ones I have are going to be too tight so I hesitate to try them on!
Andrea Nine
First of all, the print of those pants is darling and suits you so well! And second of all you have the best collection of scarves. And how much do I adore the head wrap I your hair with that fun, sweet, casual, retro vibe outfit! You have the best style and always look so put together.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
YOU made MY day! Thank you, Andrea. I worried about wearing the hair wrap…that I might look like I am trying too hard
to turn back time! In fact, when I wore it to school, the first gal who saw me said I looked like a little girl. Wish I
immediately loved but then worried about in the next breath. But I have been wearing them anyway. 😛
Sarah @ Foxy's Domestic Side
Love the subtle print on those pants. You always put together the best outfits!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Awww, you always say the sweetest things. Thank you. I think I need a few more pairs of patterned pants in my
wardrobe.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
YOU are just so sweet! Thank you, baby girl. Did you see the pin I sent you about the braid that you do in front of your face? Crazy! Would love to see you style it. My daughter Lauren pinned it originally, maybe I can get her to do it and take pics.
Lana
Great outfits Leslie! And I love the Style Imitating Art – how fun!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Lana. I really want to try to join the gals for Style Imitating Art more regularly. It is always a fun post
and kind of makes me think out of the box. Which I have trouble doing.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Isn’t that Style Imitating Art a fun link-up?
Alison @ Puppies & Pretties
I really like the one PC liked too 🙂 Its like a party on the top but business on the bottom.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Had a giggle over this! Love the idea of party on top and business on the bottom. You are a cutie. Thank you.
Amy Johnson
So many fabulous outfits! I especially love the first one! And you are looking so svelte too! I’m envious!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
What a kind thing to say. I am afraid I am not too svelte (what a fabulous word, huh?) but I have this terrific skinny mirror!! So standing in front of it is like taking ten pounds off!
Jen @ Librarian for Life and Style
Such a sweet SIA outfit — that scarf is great!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you. Love my Christmas-gift floral scarf, too.
Suzy Turner
Hi Leslie!
You should’t feel silly taking photos of your outfits because you look great in them all! You’ve clearly got style and should celebrate that!
