Welcome fashionistas!
It’s been awhile since I posted from My Fashion Haus. I assure you I have been getting dressed everyday but seem to dash out the door for school before remembering to take a picture of what I am wearing.
My favorite look lately was an outfit I first wore when PC and I went to the see the musical West Side Story at the University of Texas, El Paso dinner theater in October.
Funny how I can look back at pictures and tell which outfits I really felt happy and comfortable in. This is one! To quote the song “I Feel Pretty” from the musical we saw that night,
“…I feel stunning
And entrancing,
Feel like running and dancing for joy,
For I’m loved
By a pretty wonderful boy!…” [source]
Alright, to say I felt stunning or entrancing that night or any night of my life would be a bit of a s t r e t c h!
But I am loved by a pretty wonderful boy.
Here we have the same outfit when I wore it to school this week. Sadly, I didn’t think to take a picture until after I had dragged myself all over the library for 8 hours and then attended a two-hour PTA meeting.
So I did look a bit fresher twelve hours earlier!
Loft chambray shirt dress, Mossimo Aztec cardigan from Target, Corral Circle G cowgirl boots, Walmart silver earrings. Even though it looks like our den floor is laid on the side of a hill, it’s just an optical illusion created by PC’s vantage point in the recliner from where he reluctantly took my picture.
In the picture on the left, feel free to play connect the dots with my liver spots, but I was trying to get an up-close pic of my earrings. Funny, it didn’t occur to me until just now that I could have removed them from my head and snapped a picture! Removed the earrings, not the liver spots. Not sure what I was trying to capture in the picture on the right, consider it a freebie…enjoy!
Ha!
Up next on My Fashion Haus runway we have Leslie (yes, again) and her reflection in skinny mirror. Skinny mirror is Leslie’s full-length mirror from Kirkland’s. It is better than a diet and not unlike
“Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest (substitute skinniest) one of all…”
I wore this outfit (the one below, not the one in the picture directly above) to school last week. I was comfy in the morning when the temps were winter-like and comfy in the afternoon when the temps were more like spring.
Finally, I bring you today’s outfit. I didn’t think to take a picture until I was in the car.
Somehow between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., I went from feeling energetic, bright eyed and bushy tailed to…
Whew.
I still love getting up and getting dressed for work. Ok, that’s an exaggeration. I love getting dressed for work. If I could do that without getting up and out of bed, it would be even better. But I am still enjoying working in the library, being with the kids and books…and if I have to get out of bed to do that, so be it.
Has winter come to your neck of the woods? Are you wearing faux fur vests and scarves and gloves yet? I think next week I will wear my faux fur even if it is over 60 in the afternoon. It is almost Christmas, for heaven sake. If I don’t wear fur now, when will I wear it? Stayed tuned for another edition of My Fashion Haus.
I leave you with this parting shot.

Love the cowboy boots! Does it ever get cold in your neck of the woods?

You do look happy and comfy in the outfit you wore to West Side Story! You just reminded me I need to order tickets for Wicked for Brian’s birthday!! I love that checkered tunic with the green Stitch Fix cardi! I just ordered another fix from Stitch Fix, but told them not to send it until late January!

Girl, you crack me up! Seriously! My fav outfit is the black sheath dress! So cute! And I so identify with the hairy legs and spring-like temps. No fur or gloves here!
