Hi Dolls!
I don’t know about you, but I am tard.
T-I-R-E-D.
Tard.
This new year is whoopin’ my behind. So this is going to be a quick trip down the catwalk.
I haven’t done a “fashion” post for awhile so I thought I needed to put something together lest you gals start thinking I am not getting dressed in the morning! And I am linking up with my blogging buddy and friend Lisa from Daily Style Finds, with Jaymie at Shop Your Closet by Jaymie, Jill and Carrie for Thursday Fashion Files, Laura for Confident Twosday, and my ever-fashionable cyber-bud Jo-Lynne for Fashion Friday.
All of these gals are runway worthy.
Me, eh, not so much. So I stick to bathroom pics.
As you all know, I don’t profess to be an especially snazzy dresser but I enjoy putting together inexpensive, comfy outfits that suit my life. Outfits that work for school, or running around with my PC (Prince Charming) or going out for dinner and a movie.
Here’s what I wore to school today:
I took these first pics on my way out the door today. Then PC took pity on me and took some pictures of my outfit real quick before I jumped in the car for work.
Here’s the rundown on this runway outfit: marled cream and caramel turtleneck from Target (so warm and snuggly), brown skinny jeans from Loft Outlet, booties from Payless, tassel pendant from Charming Charlie’s, and Michael Kors (ha! ME, in Kors!) military jacket from Marshal’s.
Sadly, the lighting in the bathroom at school is brighter than the lighting at home so some of my better pictures, at least as far as lighting goes, are taken from the Rosa Guerrero Elementary School faculty bathroom.
Exhibit A:
I look like I am asleep on my feet. Told you I was tard!
I totally forgot to = left for work too late to take pictures at home of yesterday’s outfit. And it was one of my most recent favorites. But here it is from the bathroom at school. I give you Exhibit B, more evidence of the great lighting at school.
These pics were taken from the smaller faculty bathroom where I can lock the door and not worry that someone will walk in and think that I am surely crazy…and maybe a little vain?
Here’s the rundown on this little ensemble: Loft olive skinny jeans, JCPenney chambray shirt, Loft orange boyfriend cardi, boots from Belk, Charming Charlie’s scarf, thumb-wrist brace by Walgreens.
Until I did my first challenges with Alison Lumbatis, I would have been hesitant to wear this outfit. I don’t think I would have put olive green pants with a blue blouse and an orange cardigan. But now days I feel more confident that these colors work together and the scarf is like the bow that ties this little package together.
This next little number was one I wore on a weekend to the movies with my PC. It was unusually cold and windy for El Paso, so I was bundled up.
PC really liked this outfit. In fact, we went to a party later that afternoon, and I was going to get more dressed up but he wanted me to wear this! Tommy Hilfiger Outlet white blouse, Target military vest, Wit and Wisdom straight leg jeans, faux UGGs from Payless, scarf from my sweet friend Katie at The Mishaps and Mayhem of a Solitary Life. And my military jacket from Marshalls.
I will wrap this up with an accidental favorite outfit. I am not sure where we were going – maybe for a massage at Massage Envy. I am certainly not dressed up by any means but somehow wearing (faux) fur makes me feel fancy!
Not sure what’s up with my stomach in the middle picture. Looks like I could almost be about four months pregnant, which I assure you is not possible for assorted reasons. Hope it is just the angle I am holding the camera at that is making my look a little fluffy. But if not, I am back on Weight Watchers.
Oprah is, too.
And we are going to make 2016 the year of OUR BEST BODY.
This is a super simple outfit. Gray cardigan from StitchFix, Abound gray tee, ankle-zipped jeans from Loft, Target white fur scarf, “crystal” earrings from Charming Chuck’s. Oh, and my sensationally comfy Payless faux UGGs, again!
I feel more confident putting outfits together since I participated in Alison Lumbatis’s Style Challenges. If you would like more information on the challenges, leave me a comment below. I know I was getting dressed for over 50 years before I got hooked up with Alison but getting dressed is much easier now.
I even wore my faux fur vest for the first time this week! With Alison’s great encouragement, this was still a stretch for me. I told my daughters that I was afraid I looked like I was trying to dress like a 50 year old!
What do you think? Is this another example of putting lipstick on a pig? I just love that expression! And I love my Target fur vest. Paired it with black jeans from…Loft, of course. Old Navy long-sleeved tee, and Frye boots from my Prince. Mustard bag from Miche. A lot of colors going on here, too, but somehow they work.
I think!?!
Somehow, I always wear a little fur everyday…my kitties see to that!
Here are mama’s little angels now, helping me with my crafts.
They sure wear their fur better than I do.
What are you wearing these chilly winter days? Do you have a piece of clothing that tests the bounds of your comfort zone?
Have you tried fur?
Thank you for spending a few minutes of your day here with me. Have a restful weekend, my friends.
Hugs and kisses,
Dolores Angerstein

You are so sweet. I know you like a good bathroom pic, Dolores. Thought of you every time I took one of these. Hope you are
doing ok, and that you enjoyed a restful holiday. Surely you can join us in the ranks of retirement soon? XO

I was so nervous trying the fur vest out in public. You guys really gave my confidence a boost. Thank you, sweets.

Target has had a lot of fur vests lately! I love the one you got from there. I have a brown one and now I want a black one… altho, I need to wear my brown one more first! lol! I really love your military jacket, it looks heavier then mine which would be nice for this time of year here! Aww, your two cats are so precious! We have 2 kitties here, too. A rag doll and a calico!

I bought my fur vest last year at the end of the winter season. Didn’t even wear it until this year. In fact, not until the day I took this picture. I wish I had a longer one but i am like you, I can’t justify buying another one (I like the black ones, too!!) until I wear this one more. Maybe I will wear it everyday next week. PC encouraged me to buy the MK jacket for our trip to Reno/Lake Tahoe that didn’t happen because the flight was grounded due to faulty de-icing of our plane. Glad I didn’t have to take the coat back! It is warm and love that it has a hood. What are your kitties’ names? Is a rag doll longish fur? Hope Autumn is on the mend, friend. And that everyone is well this weekend.
Laura
Great looks! I really like the chambray and orange cardi!

Thank you! I felt a little like a jockey…why do I associate orange and blue with horses?
