Chao, fashionistas!
Hold on, cause this is going to be fast. Tonight My Fashion Haus is only open for the few minutes between 9:00 and 9:30 pm. I know PC is going to want to go up to bed any minute so I am going to type as fast as my gnarled and slightly arthritic fingers can go. Please forgive the typos that this will no doubt bring about (hey, that rhymes!).
As you may know, I have been subbing again, and just finished a two-week stint in the library at Crosby Elementary for my pal Rosa. I loved having an excuse to wear a couple of skirts and dresses. I know I can wear them when I’m not working but seems silly to fuss with heels and hose and a slip when Purrsnickitty and Purrsimmony are the only ones who are going to see me. Guess they wouldn’t notice if I didn’t wear a slip, so could at least eliminate that.
Here’s a little outfit I put together for one of my first days subbing this year.
This is another head-to-toe Loft look accessorized by a little Charming Charlie’s and DSW. I bought the dress early last spring at Loft Outlet when I was looking for a striped dress for the GYPO SpringStyle 2015 challenge. It is the softest, most forgiving fabric…almost a terry cloth. The Loft cardigan is a kind of neat, blush color that could work with pink or with peach. This Loft Outlet scarf is very light and gauzy, and the stripes are charcoal, pink and peach with a silvery, metallic threads. I think the sales gal thought I had lost my marbles when I paired a striped scarf with a striped dress! We are in El Paso, after all. Most pattern mixing here is accidental!
My nude pumps are BCBG from DSW with slightly (ABC-already been chewed) kitty-gnawed heels (not to be confused with the popular kitten heel), thank you Purrsimmony. Another reason why dressing up for my kitties is a bad idea. The chunky tortoise shell watch was a $25 bargain at CC’s and the earrings are OLD, OLD!
The faux wrap-around tie at the waist softens the folds of tummy and the fabric across my middle. I prefer the diagonal stripes instead of the perfectly horizontal stripes that can look like hula hoops or Saturn’s gassy rings around my hips.
I tried my infinity scarf a couple of different ways and settled with it long and tied in a knot.
Here I am again in an almost identical picture to the one above.
When I visit other bloggers’ fashion posts, they share pictures of their outfit(s) in a number of photos. But I can only hold my camera (phone) and take pictures in pretty much one stance.
This stance right here. Yup, this one.
So, I made it. Just under the wire. PC has announced he is going up to bed. Which means I need to wind things up here, start the dishwasher, feed the kitties, change the clothes from the washer to the dryer and go up, too.
Have a restful Labor Day Weekend, if I don’t see you.
I’ll be around though.
Have a great post planned with my friend and fellow librarian Morgan to introduce/highlight jewelry and accessories from the KEEP Collective.
Stop by!
Hugs and kisses,
Sharon
Pretty pretty! You still have the best legs too! 😊

I am pretty sure you are a little biased but love that about you. Thank you!

What an adorable striped dress! Love it!! I am thinking about getting my striped dress out soon and pairing it with some burgundy accents. And, anything from Charming Charlies is perfection! Love the watch!

Huh, maybe I can autumnize this dress with burgundy, too. Thanks for the great idea. I will get right on that. 🙂 XO

A faux wrap dress is such a good piece. I love your color combo here. You look so professional and teacherish ready. Enjoy subbing, friend!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I have had a couple of faux wrap dresses in not-so-forgiving jersey. This fabric is so much kinder! Thank you for your sweet comment.

LOVE how you styled this!! that soft pink is so pretty on you!! you’re so stylish!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, sweet thing. I never wear pink but maybe I should try to incorporate it more often. Kind of liked it! XO

So happy I happened to find your w blog-great for us “older” girls. Love your love finds (my favorite store, too) – just wish we had a Charming Charilie’s!
P.S. I agree, you do have great legs!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
You, my friend, are the sweetest thing. So glad you discovered me, too. I didn’t discover Loft until a year or so ago. Now I am making up for lost time every chance I get!!! Hard on my bank account, though. Have you shopped in a Charming Charlie’s? They are crazy fabulous. My daughter introduced me to CCs and it is right next door to my Loft. Talk about dangerous! Thank you for stopping by, thank you for you sweet words. Hope you will come back again.

This outfit is fabulous! Start to finish!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Bren. It was so comfy and so forgiving. Loved the terry cloth. And I love you.
Casey
ADORBS!!! I mean, how can you go wrong with Loft, CC and DSW?? I love those places! You are so cute Leslie! XO
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, sugar foot. I think I might need to wear that dress again. I felt dressed up but comfy. I would have to say those three stores and maybe Target thrown in for good measure, are my favs.
Jennie
Oh, this is such a gorgeous look, Leslie! You look stunning. I really like the diagonal print on the skirt of your dress – very flattering.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Jennie. Shame I bought that dress in early spring and JUST NOW put it on. That is really awful, huh? I just kept thinking the right occasion would come to get dressed up…little did I know that substitute teaching would be that occasion!
