Fashionistas and friends,
My fashion haus is open today to share a quickie post and a few photos of a fav tee shirt. The gals at The Blended Blog showcased some of their favorite tees. Also linking up with my buds Carrie at Curly Crafty Mom for Thursday Fashion Files and Jennie at Pocketful of Polka Dots for Fabulous Friday and Laura at I do deClaire for Confidant Twosday!
Question: can something new instantly become a favorite? Upon trying it on, this cactus cutie instantly became my new fav tee. So decided to hop into my fashion haus real quick to share it with you. Almost seems unfair to all my other tees that as soon as I slipped this shirt over my head it became a fav. Until now, I’ve felt that favorites are something time-honored, faded and broken in. But this tee changed my mind. Just don’t let these guys know.
A Fav Tee
You know what? I can’t remember where I saw this tee first. Online somewhere. Maybe in an Insta post, on Facebook or my favorite social media outlet…Pinterest. You have probably picked up my love for cactuses in recent posts featuring them in crafts I’ve made, here, here and here (had forgotten there were so many…apparently, I DO like cactuses). Or in my review of the beautiful silk cactus from Commerical Silk. Wherever I saw this tee first, I knew I had to make it mine. This is the image that called my name.

Doesn’t that bold, Tex-Mex graphic speak to you, too? Followed the image to the Heel N Spurs online shop at Shopify. Oh, the goodies they have!
My cactus cutie arrived promptly, wrapped in pretty pink tissue paper.
It was love at first sight. The colors in this tee are so vibrant. And the images made me smile and remember childhood Friday evenings at the drive-in. All 3 of us kids piled up with blankets and pillows in the ‘waaaaay’ back seat of the station wagon, eating stove popped popcorn from large brown grocery bags. Good times, great memories.
Me in My Tee
Slipped on my size 6 (check me out!!) Loft relaxed crops and beaded aqua tassel earrings to wear with my new fav tee. Forced my (healing) broken foot into my pale green Converse tennies (think Cinderella’s step-sisters) and voilà! The moment you’ve all been waiting for…me in my tee.
Next time I wear it, which might be today, I am going to go a little crazy and knot the tee at my hip. Whoa, Nellie!!
Really enjoying my LipSense colors. Have started using them almost exclusively. This is plumeria.
Thinking this would be cute with a denim skirt. And guess what? I just happen to have two. Even better, they fit! Maybe I could throw on my cowboy boots for kicks? Some of my great grandmother’s turquoise accessories. Yee haw!
Starring off into the wild, blue yonder in this pic. Have to quit being so dad-gum lazy and set up my light kit and good camera on the tripod. Someday.
Your Turn
Whatcha think? Can a brand new item become a favorite? Or does it have to prove itself with the test of time? What does your fav tee look like? Would love to know.
I tell you, girls, we are hemorrhaging money over here. PC used to say that if it wasn’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all. Afraid I’ve rubbed off on him. Things are going out and breaking like nobody’s business here at the castle. Our ‘faux’ Sleep Number bed is going out. We replaced the springs on the garage door this morning for $600. You have heard me whine about my oven for months. Still turns off whenever it wants to. Our sprinklers stopped working last week. And the electricity in the garage stopped doing whatever it does 2 weeks ago. I feel a Little Letters post coming on, tomorrow.
So grateful that we have a home, and that PC is such a good provider that we can get these things repaired. But it is still terribly frustrating.
We were going to go out to eat tonight but when we saw the bill for the garage door, I got out the crock pot.
Thank you for putting up with me, loves.
Hugs and kisses,
Daenel T.
What a cute tee! I can see why it caught your eye. I have 2 favorite tees, both reference coffee and were given to me by my kids {purchased with their own money!!}. I need to pull them out and wear them sometime… And, yeah, those home repairs will get you every time.

Those gifted coffee tees sound like your cup of tea. I enjoy seeing your signature coffee/cup in your photos. How do you take your coffee? Are you a big Starbucks fan?
I really like the distressed fabric being used in many of the tee shirts these days. So softy. This cactus tee will need a little breaking in before it is soft like a vintage tee.

Love the tee! Super cute!
My recent fave is a solid but has a ruffle detail on the sleeves. Found it in melon and in gray at TJ Maxx, which is a favorite store for me.
Also… just bought the same beaded tassel earrings as yours but in hot pink. They’re a little heavy but I really like them!
We’ve been in repair/replacement mode this year as well… but not all in one month. Yikes! Ours was also a new oven, new mattress (ours was older than dirt), and a garage door is currently broken as well. Oy!

Not to mention my yard cart! 😂

Oh, yeah! That was pretty disastrous. Guess since we have so many similarities, I can expect my wheelbarrow to go any minute, too! Hopefully not on fire! XO

We have so many strange similarities in our lives…my oven is going out. I never know when it will shut off, mid-bake! Our mattress, too. And the garage door just had to be repaired. How can we have the same things going on in our two worlds? Our universes must be colliding.
Would love the hot pink version of the tassel earrings. And melon is one of my fav colors after GREEN!! I am sure your melon tee is adorable with it’s ruffled sleeves.
Have a beautiful Mother’s Day, dear Em!

This tee is adorable! The bright colors are so eye-catching and fun and I like the large graphic. It looks so cute with your cropped jeans and Converse! I enjoyed reading your description of going to the drive-in and it brought back old memories. 🙂 Happiest of Mother’s Days to you, Leslie!

Thank you, sugar. Kind of like the black cactus tee, too. Oh, I need a job to afford this clothes buying habit!! Hope you are having a terrific Mother’s Day with your lads.

Love your cactus tee. It’s so colorful and joyous, like its owner! I have an old tee I like, a kitty on a cream background. But my current fave is a black one with rose gold lettering.

You are so sweet!! Thank you!
OOOoooo, rose gold! Yes, all day long. I need to wash my cactus tee a couple of times to break it in but afraid some of the brightness of the colors will fade then, too.

Very cute!

Thank you!

Oohh! So cute with your colored Converse! I just bought a pair of brand spanking new white converse to replace my dirty, old ones. I also have a pink pair and I love them. I’m finding myself increasingly drawn to cute cactus prints this spring…although it seems kind of funny for this midwestern girl…there isn’t a cactus in sight around here!
