Happy first Monday in September!
We are finally moving into fall. Yeah, baby. Sweaters, boots, long-sleeved shirts, scarves, vests…still 103 this afternoon but it is fall. Until the temps are a little more cooperative, this gal is just going to slather on the deodorant a little thicker and wear those fall clothes anyway.
This is the post where I usually reflect on my progress toward meeting last month’s goals and I take a peek at the numbers for my blog over the last thirty days. But I have fallen off the band-wagon toward work on my goals in the past month. Can I blame getting off course in August on all of the birthdays and celebrations in July? I did get off track while we were on vacation and never quite managed to get my act together again.
In fact, when I looked for my August goal worksheet, I couldn’t find it. I have a sneaking suspicion one was never completed in the first place. I was off track on day 1! But this month is starting out more promising, so I hope I have better numbers and progress to share with you come October for this month.
So where these numbers posts have been exhaustive in length in the past, this one is going to be downright snappy.
Let’s start with some blog numbers. In August, Once Upon a Time & Happily Ever After had:
- 1,794 page views, -588 So sad. Last month I was up over 300 and now I am down that and more.
- 1,279 unique visits, -527
- 919 first time visits, -500
- 360 return visits, -6
If I was an accountant or a statistician or even a math major, I could probably draw a pretty accurate conclusion from this downward shift. But I am decidedly right-brained, so I am just going to chock this up to everyone was recovering from vacay like I was. And not back to their regular blog reading routine, maybe?
But I thank YOU for being here.
I think since my August was kind of a bust in the goal-achieving business, I will just make this post short and sweet. Well, maybe not sweet exactly, short and sad?
Here’s hope that September brings me renewed energy for making great things happen in my life. This week was the beginning of the GYPO Rediscover Me Challenge. I am going through the process of identifying and reevaluating health and wellness, beauty and appearance, relationship goals so September’s rewind should be full of good stuff. Hope you will come back.
Wishing you a restful Labor Day and a quick, short work week!
Thank you for spending time with me today.
Hugs and kisses,
Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom
I think August is a sucky month for numbers. Mine are WAY down as in 3,000 page views down! I think everyone is taking last minute vacations, school is starting, etc. etc. I am hoping to see better numbers this fall 🙂

You are such an inspiration. You and Jo-Lynne Shane and all the other sweet gals made me feel better about my numbers. I was just being a big baby indulging in a pity party. This blogging stuff is kind of scary though. We put ourselves ‘out there’ and then it is easy to kind of feel rejected or unloved when it feels like no one is reading or following. Hope I can grow my blog over this next year.

My numbers were down in August too. I chock it up to summer vacations and lots going on. Here’s to better numbers in September!

Cheers! To better numbers! So glad I am not the only one. If you and Carrie saw a decrease in your numbers, it’s a wonder I had any numbers at all. Thank you for cheering me up.

my numbers were down too and I think Deena said on her blog that hers were down too… soooooo I’m not taking it personal 🙂

Yay! Well, not yay that your numbers were down but that we are all in this slump together. Hope we all have our best months ever with September. XO

I’ve been really floundering the past few months. I’m with you – September will be better!

It’s hard, isn’t it, at times…this blogging stuff. You kind of put your heart on your sleeve and then wonder if it matters. But it does because it is important to US. And if others find what we are doing interesting or inspirational or encouraging, that is icing on the cake. September will be better. XO

Sorry to hear about the downturn on numbers. However, as the others mentioned, my numbers also went down in August. I usually don’t pay much attention to my numbers, but definitely noticed when it was a significant difference. I feel a bit better now knowing I am not the only one. Let’s hope September is much better!

Crazy!! Everyone’s numbers went down. I feel so much better (and a little guilty because I do) knowing I am not alone. Here’s to a fabulous September.
