Dear Ones,
Joining Anne in Residence and her guest blogger Carrie from A Stylish Fit for their “Currently” link-up. Anne is so good about sending out prompts for the coming month’s post as a reminder to all who like to participate. This edition we are talking about what we are watching, eating, saying, wearing, posting. But not in that order. We are talking about what we are eating, posting, saying, watching and wearing. That’s better. My OCD won’t let go.
Eating
Actually, we are eating at home a lot more these days. Consider it tightening our belts after we committed to building an in-ground pool, and not because we’ve lost a whole lotta weight over here. But we are working on that, too.
Yesterday, 2/28 was my Prince Charming’s birthday. We talked about going out to eat to celebrate then the birthday boy changed his mind. Decided he wanted homemade chili instead. The recipe I use was shared with me by 21 Day Fix coach and blogger Casey Shanks Rooney. It is delicious. Take a peek.
The secret ingredient is pureed pumpkin. So. Good. I can’t find Casey’s exact recipe to link to but found two very similar chili recipes on Pinterest. Check them out on my 21 Day Fix board, here. And here is Casey’s recipe that I typed up for my own use, makes 6+ servings.
Currently, 3.01.2017
Figured this up on Weight Watchers and it is 8 points per serving. Not bad and so hearty.
Posting
I am posting about what I’m doing ‘currently’, sillies!! But yesterday, I shared a crock pot Salisbury steak recipe for The Blended Blog’s “Tasty Tuesday”. If you missed that, click here to visit that post on my blog.
And tomorrow, I will be posting about the book I read in February as part of The Blended Blog’s virtual book club. Hope you will stop back by to read my review of A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley.
We are starting new books for March and you are cordially invited to join the fun. Click here to register.
Mark your calendars, girls…on March 20, I will be sharing my spring bucket list. Will be working toward completing the list until mid-June.
If you are a blogger,Instagrammer, Tweeter or FBer, I would love for you to join me. Use #springbucketlist2017 on your posts or pics or tweets. And I will try very hard to remember to do the same. As I have done with my fall bucket and winter bucket lists, there will be a couple of follow-up progress posts to report how I am doing on my list.
Saying
Goodbye. Friday was my last day of work at Logan Elementary. I have been subbing there in the library since early November. It was an uplifting, renewing, heart-warming experience. The children and teachers were very receptive to my lessons. The parents were enthusiastic about being able to visit the library every afternoon with their children. The faculty, staff and students made me feel right at home from the first day.
On Friday, I was treated to a farewell luncheon in my honor, gifts from parents and teachers, cards and little gifts from children, including 5 chocolate chip cookies and a framed drawing of a beach in Croatia.
I have done 5 long-term library sub jobs since retiring. Each one special. Leaving a school and saying goodbye is always tough.
Watching
“Bachelor”, of course.

But not too crazy about Nick. I like all three girls remaining much better than I like him. Know he will be heart broken to read that. Kind of hate to think of any of them getting hooked up with Nick.
Started the miniseries “Big Little Lies” this week on HBO based on the book by Liane Moriarty. It is one of the TBB virtual book club titles for February.

Haven’t read the book…going straight to the show.
DVRing and watching “Victoria”, “The Crown” and “Taboo”. Love the first two, the latter is too dark, dreary and violent for me. And “This is Us”, although that one is beginning to feel too predictable.
Wearing
Since I am not working right now, I’ve been wearing active wear more. Love to get dressed up for work but it feels kinda good to do the tennies and sweats thing for a change. Won’t bore you with pictures of that casual look. But here’s the outfit I wore on my last day of work.
Limited polka dot sweater, Loft Outlet jeans, Old Navy floral print blouse, Mix No. 6 flats from DSW.
I have been trying to wear more dresses and skirts, although you can’t tell that here. You’ll have to take my word for it.
Your Turn
So, that’s what I am up to over here in far west Texas. How ’bout you? What are you eating, posting, saying, watching and wearing? Would love to have you share with me in a comment below.
And then run by to read what my hostesses with the mostesses, Anne and Carrie, are doing currently. My buddy Michael Ann has joined the fun, too, so please stop by here to read about life in her corner of Georgia.
Thank you for stopping by. Hope you will join me again tomorrow for a my first TBB virtual book club book review. See YOU then!
Hugs and kisses,

Chili sounds like a perfect bday dinner IMHO! I also love pureed pumpkin in my chili! Happy Birthday to PC! I can’t wait to see your Spring Bucket list! That polka dotted top is so pretty only, that color looks great on you. I am looking forward to wearing some lighter colors!

Have you guys had an unseasonably mild winter? We sure did! Unless it hasn’t hit yet, in which case it will be a very late winter. Next time I make the chili, I want to add a little cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice. But don’t tell PC, he might not like it if I switch up his fav recipe.
Whitney a la mode
I love your pattern mixing and color scheme! That polka dot sweater is spectacular! And What a lovely send-off from your latest school. It’s no surprise that they love you because you exude warmth and caring!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh thank you, cutie pie. You say the sweetest things. I was sooo touched by my send-off but cried all day long! Have to admit, though, that I have
enjoyed being home this week! And spring break is around the corner. Woo hoo!! XO
Andrea Nine
Love these posts and seeing what you’re up to! Happy belated to the PC. You guys are the cutest couple and you are slaying it in polka dots lady! LOVE the color so much, LOVE you more!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Aww, you sweet thing. Thank you for stopping by. I love my PC and we have a lot of fun together, whatever we are doing. Felt sad that
he didn’t want to go out for his b’day but happy that he requested my chili for his birthday dinner.
Michael Ann
Pumpkin? In chili?!? Get out! Seriously?!? Hmmmm. I’ll have to think about that one! What I do NOT have to think about is your last day of subbing outfit! Leslie, how beautiful you AND your outfit are! Great job! I’m working on my spring bucket list! It’s been fun to get ideas down on paper.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I am just so happy you are working on your spring bucket list. Hope we can get some more gals interested in joining us. Or you have a male blogger friend, I think. Maybe he would like to add a male perspective?
Try the chili!! So. Good. Truly. You won’t know it is in there and yet it will be so delicious.
Thank you for your sweet compliment on my last-day-of-school outfit. As much as I love school and getting dressed for work, I am enjoying being home in sweats this week. XO
Anne
I’ve been enjoying Big Little Lies and Victoria too. And I love this idea of a virtual book club! Thanks for linking up 🙂
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Would love to have you join our virtual book club! We read as many or as few of the suggested titles as we like but our discussions are thought-provoking and stimulating and usually involve wine.
Lana
Happy birthday to your PC! What a wonderful send off from your library kids – I’m sure they will miss you. LOVE that polka dot sweater and your pattern mixing!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Lana. I miss the babies at school very much. It is hard to get attached to them and then have to say goodbye.
