Dear ones,
Welcome to Currently, 11.2018. I am currently playing hookie from the gym to watch the election results come in. Did you vote? Hope so!
Joining Anne in Residence and all the gals for this edition of the her popular series. Anne asked us to share what we are currently appreciating, cooking, getting, posting, and researching. Here are my responses.
Currently, 11.2018
Appreciating…
my new Rockstar jeans. Have you ever tried Rockstar jeans from Old Navy? I have been a Loft girl since my first Get Your Pretty On style challenge. Mostly because I can squeeze into a 6 at Loft! Gotta love that vanity sizing. But size is just a number and fit is more important. And I am digging the fit of my new jeans. Can you tell?
Cooking…
soup out the yin yang. After the soup recipe swap post from few weeks ago, I have begun making all the recipes that were shared in the blog hop and on my Facebook page. Sunday, it was Santa Fe soup. A recipe shared by my BFF Sharon. My Prince is in love with this soup. Almost a little jealous over here but I guess that’s silly! I did introduce the two of them, my PC and the soup. It’s my fault for bringing them together. Sorry for the poor quality but my photo is an action shot of Paully-wog ladling the soup into his bowl.
Getting…
more Rockstar jeans, what else! Old Navy has all of their jeans on sale right now. I picked up a pair of these mid-rise gray-wash Rockstar super skinny jeans for $7.50! And a pair of olive mid-rise Rockstar super skinny jeans for $14.98. Love the return to mid-rise. Remind me, why did we ever think low-rise was a good thing? Even PC scored some new britches. He bought a pair of Old Navy Built-In Flex boot cut jeans when we were in the store over the weekend and I ordered him a second pair for $19.99. Check him out. He looks pretty spankilicious, if you ask me.
Posting…
the most beautiful dresses at work onto the Ebay storefronts for which I work. Ever heard of Rebecca Taylor? I hadn’t until I discovered these dresses in my bin for posting. This photo does not do this dress justice. Plus I took the back of the dress and not the front for some reason. It’s called a BACK for a reason.
Oh, my goodness. Ultra-feminine. Beautifully made. Silk. Ruffles. Burn-out velvet. This is one of the dresses I posted, a silk velvet halter dress. Look at this one. And this one. Magnificent! I get a 50% discount on items we sell after they have been posted on Ebay for so many weeks. Just need some place special to wear one of these dresses.
Researching…
books for our virtual book club’s next read. Here are the books up for consideration this time around. See anything you’ve been wanting to read? Why don’t you join us and vote on your favorite choice for our 6th book. Voting closes on Saturday and these are the titles we are voting from. Holler back if you want to join us!!
Well, gals, I didn’t get this finished last night so here I am scrambling to finish this morning before work. Gotta go so going to keep it short and sweet. Rare thing for me.
Your Turn
What are you appreciating, cooking, getting, posting and researching at your house? Won’t you share in a comment below. I owe, I owe so off to work I go…from Snow White and the 7 Dwarves, right? Love those fairy tale references…
Hugs and kisses,
Anne
What a great fall color for jeans – you are rocking those rockstars! And I don’t know anything about most of those book options (need to get on that, clearly!), but I have read Educated, and it would be an *excellent* book club pick, I think. It’s quite fascinating. I’m currently in the middle of A Place for Us, and it would probably make for good discussion as well. It’s very character-driven, but there’s a lot to talk about in terms of culture, family dynamics, and such. Happy reading!

Hey Anne!
I would like to read Educated but the book club chose The Tattooist of Auschwitz, which was another book I was anxious to read. Books set during World War II are among my favorites. So I jumped right in reading it. This summer my oldest daughter married a darling fella from Afghanistan. A Place for Us caught my eye as we were in the midst of wedding planning and caught up in the Muslim wedding traditions. Need to read it, too. Your description of A Place for Us makes me want to read it even more. So many great books and I fall asleep so quickly when trying to read. Boo!!

You had me at Spankilious! So funny! You both look spankilious in your jeans. Great deal you found too. I didn’t know you worked for ebay. I’m curious! Soup looks delicious too.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ha, spankilicious is a great term. Glad you like it, too. I imagine you and Dale look pretty spankilicious in your jeans, too!
We have been eating more soup than anything else lately. This week I want to prepare at least one meal that requires some chewing.
Have been working for 4 ebay store fronts since late summer. The pay is not great but I like the work and I am off at lunch time so can still get things done before PC gets home. Hope you are enjoying your first year back to teaching. The children are blessed to have you!
Kellyann Rohr
I am loving your Rockstar jeans!!! Look at you in that picture with your boots looking all fabulous!!! Yay!!! And I’m cracking up over your comment about your PC being “spankalicious” – love it!!! I look forward to seeing more fashion posts from you in your awesome news pants!
xo,
Kellyann

So I ordered two more pairs of Rockstars and another pair of Old Navy bootcut for my Prince. And now I cam coveting your Wit and Wisdom pleggings. I have some of their jeans. Checked out the price and they are more expensive than I usually pay for anything but love all that you said about them. Maybe for payday? I will be sure to stop back by to order through your link.
Debs
Well just check you out with all these new super skinny jeans – no wonder your ‘spankalicious’ husband had to get in on the act and buy something new too!
I have never heard of that dress designer before but looking at the price tags, I don’t think any of them are going to be finding their way into my wardrobe any time soon!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I loved working with the beautiful Rebecca Taylor dresses but hated folding and stuffing them onto a shelf at work, in hopes that someone will buy them soon and rescue them from the dusty, musty environment of my work site.
Dara
I loved how to walk away but I’ve read mixed reviews! I want olive jeans too!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Girl, get some of these Rockstar jeans. They are comfy and have a little give to them without totally giving up their shape. They have several shades of olive green…a lighter green and a true olive. Hope you will give them a go.
Rebecca Jo
I just picked up All we ever wanted from the library & cant wait to dig in!
You should get more of those jeans – looks so cute on you. Wait for those sales! They always have great sales!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Look forward to reading what you think of All We Ever Wanted. I sent my mom an Emily Griffin book in large print and she really enjoyed it. I haven’t read any Emily Griffin yet but will add this title to my to-read list. The book club wound up selecting The Tattooist of Auschwitz for our next read.
Thank you for the sweet compliments on my new Rockstar jeans. Picked up two more pairs, one for $7.50! Can’t beat that with a stick!
Michael Ann
Hooray for favorite jeans (Rock Stars don’t work for this curvy girl!), soup (YASSSS!), pretty dresses (I love dresses, but you knew that!), and good books (I’ve not read ANY of those!). Great post, girly!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Sure have enjoyed your camping pics. We have a new chiminea and when we light it, I think of you and all of the great times you and Sheila both enjoy around camping. Would love to rent a camper, grab PC and head off for the wilderness myself. In fact, took a break from replying to your comment to check out RV rentals in our area. And there are some. Need to remember this for early spring!

Girlfriend! That outfit is fierce!!! Seriously, the colors, the boots, everything! I’m hoping your husband took you somewhere because wowzers!!!
I’m storing “spankilicious” in the vault for later use. LOLOLOL
I have to go look up your book choices. I’ve never heard of them before.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
We wound up choosing The Tattooist of Auschwitz for our next read. I have already started! There seems to be a lot of discussion material. Hoping I can get the club members to discuss. They are a pretty quiet bunch.
PC and I did have a big date night when I debuted my Rockstar jeans. We often start our dates mid-day and go all afternoon and into the evening. He loves to be out and about. I am more of a home body. Thank you for the sweet compliments about my skinny jeans outfit. It was fun putting it together and feeling fancy in my over the knee boots.
Amy
Oh wow, what a great price on those jeans! I never liked low rise jeans, I’m so happy mid and high rise jeans are back in style.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
What were they thinking with the low rise jeans? Who did they flatter exactly? I see young gals wearing mid and high rise jeans lately and they look so cute. And so decent!! Always a plus in my book.
