Herzlich willkommen, die Damen,
Pecking out this post on my Nook tonight from my hotel bed in Baden-Baden, Germany. Joining Anne in Residence and Dana of Something Good talking about what we’re currently styling, saving, searching, picking, and making. But rest assured, I am covering those topics in alphabetical. I may be on holiday but I’m still a librarian!
Before jet lag gets the best of me – it’s 9:00 pm here and 1:00 pm at home – let’s hop to it.
Making
Plans for the things I want to do when we get back home. Will only be home five days before we had to Phoenix for the Senior Men’s World Series. I dragged out all if my fall decor before leaving for Germany but didn’t have the energy to do the decorating. Also want to get a manicure. No tips, no gel polish. Just an old fashioned mani. Making an appointment as soon as I get home.
Picking
Souvenirs of our trip for family. Today we spent the afternoon in Triberg in the Black Forrest of Bavaria. We hiked to see a lovely waterfall after shopping for trinkets to take home. Picking up keepsake pebbles and pinecones, too.
Saving
Pennies, of course! Still saving a penny a day for my Christmas fund. Up over $300 now I think. Should have almost $700 by December 25. YaY, me. Saving is generally against my nature.
Searching
For a perfect piece of clothing to add to my wardrobe for autumn. Bought two pretty floral blouses at Loft Outlet to pair with corduroy pants for this trip. A floral blouse was on the Get Your Pretty On fall work wear challenge. Always the overachiever, I bought two. Would love to find a unique, special sweater or wrap to buy here. Searching for that in each city we visit.
Styling
Not a whole lot of that going on. Wearing comfy clothes for the most part In my role as American tourist. Tomorrow, we will be styling swim wear and bath towels as we enjoy a visit to Caracalla Thermal Spa. Once we finish, I am sure to be styling a relaxed attitude.
Your Turn
What are you making, picking, saving, searching, and styling? Hope you will share in a comment below. Most especially, please share any recipes or autumn crafts you are making. Always looking for fresh ideas over here.
Going to attempt to make a graphic for this post before scheduling it to publish. If the post you are reading is graphic-free, you’ll know that attempt was a bust on my Nook.
Hugs and kisses,
Cindi
What are you making, picking, saving, searching, and styling?
Making: 3 healthy meals per day
Picking: some Goodwill finds
Saving: Duh. Define saving? Sort of impossible on a fixed income. But I have a few winners up my sleeve.
Searching: For peace and tranquility
Styling: My hair! My hair! Got it cut way too short. Waiting for it to grow!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
LOL, you made me laugh with your hair comment. I keep getting mine cut too short, too!! And I am trying to grow it out for pity sake.
Good thing about hair, it does eventually grow, though. And you may find you actually like this new length!
Yeah, the saving bit isn’t my bag. If I have money…which for me can be a dollar…I want to spend it. I sub at school because my retirement
check doesn’t give me enough extra dollars to spend. I am saving a penny a day for Christmas.
Good for you to make three healthy meals a day. I need to get back at it now that I have eaten my way across southern Germany the past week. I loved
the food but really missed eating veggies.
Thank you for coming by and thank you for leaving a comment and playing along! Heading over to return the favor. XO

Success with the pictures. The Nook never lets you down. Making: People appreciate the importance of the school library through makerspces, battle if the books and book fair in October. Picking: My battles.. know when to hold’em, know when to fold’em. Saving: not using the tollway and not thinking I deserve to drive on it, a good audio book will help Fault in My Stars Searching: for my scrapbooking, phone debriefing sister and bestie (come home and talk to me..I’m bored), styling: 40th class reunion. How can that be? What to wear when you go for Mexican with 100 of your not closest friends and why do I care what the think. Pitiful when you pray you don’t look a day over 50. I am sure I should probably be searching for some punctuation,.:;”too”

Yay, you with the good answers!! Loved the pictures of the kids having fun in your maker space area. Good job!
Picking my battles has never been my forte. Need to do better.
Does not taking the tollway make your drive much longer and congested? I thought of you and Houston traffic several times as we sat in traffic in Germany. We are so lucky here in El Paso. How are you liking Fault in My Stars? I am listening to The Handmaid’s Tale. Weird.
I am glad to be home so we can chat. Missed talking to you very much. It wouldn’t do at all for one of us to live overseas again. How did we manage when you were Down Hunder?
You’ve got this reunion biz in the bag. You have blossomed, you have arrived. You are beautiful. You are fun and funny and clever. And you don’t look a day over 49. If people don’t recognize you, it will be because you are so confident. Or should be! You are going to dazzle them. Can’t wait to hear all about it. Lay out your outfits and take pics!!
Laughed aloud at your punctuation remark. See, you are going to charm those Bartlett Panthers!

Ahhhh, shopping in Germany! You’re making me SO homesick! Can’t wait to hear all the details! “Styling a relaxed attitude!” I love it! My Currently post just went live, so check it out when you can. Safe travels whenever you guys head home.

I am so terribly behind in my blog reading that I will never catch up. Just managed to link-up with Anne today!! Hey, when do the TBB Q&A posts come out? I love doing those but seem to keep missing the questions and then the link-up.
I really enjoyed Germany. Probably more than France. But I like El Paso best! Glad to have experienced Germany and glad to be home. Heading by your ‘house’ for a visit! XO

I absolutely cannot wait to hear about your trip to Germany!! I’m so impressed that you wrote this post while you are abroad!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I need to do a few posts about my trip. One of them just about the breakfasts alone! So. Good.
So behind in my blog reading but hope to have a quiet week to get caught up on that and laundry! XO

I probably should be saving with the holidays coming up. I need to make one of my monthly goals a budget one, because we really don’t have one! It sounds like you are enjoying your trip! I hope you do a recap on the blog when you get back.

We don’t have a budget either. P pays the bills, and I try to move a little leftover into savings. And then we each have some money to play with. But he really doesn’t get into Christmas AT ALL and so his holiday budget is non-existent compared to mine because I still buy big time for my girls and their families. My penny-saving will help but won’t take care of Christmas completely.
Want to write a recap of my trip – at least a review of the delicious breakfast foods!! Really had a great trip. LOVED my German breakfasts!

I’m so happy to read that you’re enjoying your trip to Germany. I miss Europe soooooo much. I think I told you that I grew up in Italy and my parents used to take us to Germany every year for a church convocation. We hated it. Now? I wish we could do it again. I’d appreciate it so much more.
Anne
Hope your trip is/was great! Sounds great to me. And this is such a great idea for saving for Christmas gifts!
Laura
I hope you had a wonderful trip! I love the Black Hills in Bavaria! It’s a beautiful area! The thermal spa sounds amazing and so relaxing! Hope you were able to find some fun souvenirs.
