Dear ones,
Linking up with Anne and Sarah for “Currently, 03.2018.” Today we are talking about what we’re currently making, planning, pretending, seeing and wearing. All of these prompts were easy for me except one. Can you guess which word had me stumped?
Currently, 03.2018
If I were picking this month’s five prompts describing my life currently they would be decorating my house for spring, ironing clothes for our upcoming trips, packing for said trips, (birthday) shopping for my soon-to-be 2 year old granddaughter, and transcribing through Rev.com to make a little extra money to pay for spring decorations, birthday presents for Lucia, my trip to Kentucky.
Here are my responses to real prompts for this month.
Making
A string art cactus. I saw the cactus in the photo below at Hobby Lobby. Put it in my cart then decided I could make it myself. So I snapped a photo and bought the materials to make my own. Working on that project now for a “DIM, Did it Myself” post next week.
Planning
To have shelving installed in our garage. You may remember that PC and I had a tussle several weeks ago about my expanding collection of seasonal decorations. The word ‘hoarding’ was used in the heat of our discussion. PC said he would put up some shelves in the garage but he is going to be working in Germany for six weeks. So, I contacted the guy who painted our house and he gave me a very reasonable quote for doing the work. Hope to get the shelving built and the closets cleaned out and organized while my Prince is away. Shhh. Don’t tell.
Pretending
You might have guessed, this was the prompt that had me scratching my head, umm, horn. Until I remembered how I pretended to be a unicorn at Walmart on Sunday. In honor of Lucia’s upcoming unicorn-themed birthday.
And I wasn’t the only one pretending to be a unicorn. Here’s Lucia on crazy hair day for Dr. Seuss week at school.
Seeing
Signs of spring. Inside. And out.
Wearing
This orthopedic shoe. For six weeks now. Had hoped to be released by my doctor last Monday but no such luck. My foot was bruised and swollen again. X-rays indicate the fracture is healing, though. Wearing this boot for one more week.
And there you have it. My official and unofficial prompts for what’s up in my life “Currently, 03.2018.” Tomorrow, my PC and I will get packed for our trips. Friday, I will fly to Kentucky and Saturday my PC will head for Germany. My dear friend Lorena and her mama are watching our kitties and our house.
Your Turn
Take your pick of the prompts and tell me what you are making, planning, pretending, seeing and wearing OR use my unofficial words – decorating, ironing, packing, shopping and transcribing. Hope you will stop back by for “Little Letters” on Friday and “10 on the 10th: Spring Cleaning Tips” on Saturday, coming to you from the Blue Grass State.
Thank you, loves, for spending a bit of your day with me. Hope you will run by to visit Sarah at Foxy’s Domestic Side and Anne in Residence for their Currently, 03.2018 posts.
Hugs and kisses,
Laura
Oh, what precious unicorns!! You and Lucia!! I struggled with the pretending prompt, too.

Aww, thank you, love. I cannot wait to get a big birthday hug from that almost two-year-old unicorn. She is one crazy kid.
Anne
Ahh, what a little unicorn cutie! Yours is pretty funny too 🙂 Enjoy the trips, and I hope your foot is healed soon!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you, Anne. Love my baby unicorn. Three more days and this shoe can come off. I won’t know how to act wearing matching shoes! But boy, am I ready.
Laura
I am taking note of that darling unicorn hairstyle for when my oldest has a crazy hair day next time. That is too cute!!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you so much, sweet one. And yes, try out the unicorn hair. I think Lauren used a gift wrap bow. Not sure how you did the horn. Maybe on a headband? Lucia doesn’t put up with much fuss on her hair so I am sure it had to be something Lauren did quickly!
Mother of 3
Currently I am making some fun summer themed ice cream bowls. My kids and I found some plain white ones at Christmas Tree shops and we spent an afternoon cutting out vinyl decals to put on them all about flip flops and ice cream… so I guess you could say I’m also pretending it’s spring! 🙂 Hope you have a fun and safe trip.

YOU are so fun!! Do you have a die cut machine like a Cricut or are you cutting out your decals by hand? I love that project. Would love to see your final products. I am all about flip flops and ice cream winter, summer, spring and fall. Thank you for coming by and wishing me well on my trip. Boarding now!

Love the cactus art! Can’t wait to see pics and hear about your upcoming trips. Safe travels!
