In honor of linking-up with Laura and in hopes of re-connecting with her and some other big-time bloggers in the future, I am trying some new picture-taking strategies. I pulled out the big guns; my FujiFilm FinePix F500EXR (whatever all of that means) camera instead of using my iPhone. And when PC got home early from work today, I enlisted him to play photographer. No more deceptive reflections from my skinny mirror. No more contortionist moves trying to hold my iPhone far enough away to get a full body photo.
At least not for today.
How ’bout my green welcome mat? C for Charming, of course. It was a gift from my BFF Sharon and I just love it.
I took full advantage of PC’s photographic talents and posed every which way but up. He always makes me laugh (in general but especially when he is taking my pic). So these ear-to-ear grins are sincere as I look into my husband’s camera lens.
See the tag on my kitty pillow? Remember the post about superstitions? If not, you can find it here. One superstition I forgot to mention is that I don’t like removing tags. Not tags from mattresses. Nor tags from pillows (bed or throw). And if you could see the waist band of my skirt, you would find the price tag still attached to the label. Just a little bit of trivia for you.
Here’s the rundown on my outfit:
- White button up blouse – Dress Barn
- MAK Kelly green cardigan – StitchFix, similar here
- Black and white patterned skirt – Loft Outlet, similar here, here
- Comfort Plus black and white pattern block pumps – Payless
- Green , black and white scarf – Charming Charlie’s
- Silver cuff – gift from Metra, my sister-in-law
- Silver and green earrings – gift from PC
After my serious “photo-shoot”, PC and I had a little (more) fun.
And Purrsimmony and Purrsnickity even got in on the action.
If you are one of the 34.7 million Americans who claim Irish ancestry (like me) and/or one of the nearly 122 million Americans that celebrate this holiday annually [source], may this St. Patrick’s Day be your best yet. And if you don’t usually participate, maybe this is your year to try…slip on a little green.
I think you’ll find it will grow on you.
Hugs and kisses,
Laura
You look lovely! I love the green you incorporated and how well your scarf and skirt match! Happy St. Patrick’s Day and thank you so much for co-hosting today! 🙂

Thank you for sharing your blog with me. Would love to link-up again down the road. Keep me in mind! Going to try to replicate your great St. P’s outfit to wear today.

haha! I love the green mustache at the end! Perfect for St. Patty’s Day! I really love your scarf too
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ahh, thank you, Julie! I am never too serious for too long. Saw the mustaches at Hobby Lobby and knew I had to accessorize with one. Going to check out your blog or webpage now. Please come back again, and perhaps we can link-up on a project in the future?
Wendy Buer
Love reading your blog Leslie! Always brings a smile to my face. Love your St. Patty’s Day outfit!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Wendy, you sweet thing! I am glad my blog makes you smile. I am having fun with it myself. Hope you take your cute self out somewhere to celebrate St. Pat’s and to show off that great cardi and striped tee combo you have going on. Please come back again. XO
Greta Clingan
I always enjoy your blog. Love your green outfit!
I got my pot of gold (St. Patty’s Day latte) at Winan’s and some soda bread at the Bakehouse. Wish you were here to share it with me!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, I would love to have spent the day today with you. I was down in the dumps all day long. I bet walking through the shops in Troy, stopping for coffee at Winan’s and sharing some soda bread would have been just what I needed. I so, so, so enjoyed my time with you in December. Thank you, for being my sis.
Lana
Looks like you were having so much fun! I must confess I don’t have much green in my closet, but I love your outfit!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Paul just always makes me laugh, Lana. I guess that is a good thing, huh? For a gal who likes green like I like green, I don’t have enough of it in my closet!!
Lauren Buendia
Great looking legs, mamacita bonita!

Thank you, lil B.
