Dearest Readers,
Throughout the month of October, I will be participating in “Write 31 Days” – an online writing challenge. “Write 31 Days” was created by home blogger, Myquillyn Smith (The Nester), and is now hosted by Crystal Stine. Participants are invited to pick a single topic and to write a post about that subject every single solitary day in October.
YIKES! And I volunteered for this? Me, the blogger who struggles to write two or three consecutive posts in a week? I might have finally and completely flipped my lid.
Some of my blogger friends from The Ladybug Tribe, a blogging group I belong to, signed up first. And I succumbed to peer pressure. Sheila, Rachel, Karla and Michael Ann all had exciting topics to write about and have worked feverishly creating buttons and graphics while writing their first posts.
I am bringing up the rear, as usual. Scrambling to get my ducks in a row at the 11th hour. The only topic I could imagine having enough substance to write about for 31 days in a row was children’s books…and even then, I think it was Sheila who suggested that idea to me.
I created the graphic above while bathing Lucia Thursday night. Really.
I put together my very first “grab it” button tonight, after driving home from Albuquerque, going to the doctor, running errands and seeing a movie with my Prince Charming. And only after lots of help from my Ladybug Tribe girlfriends (thank you, Sheila and Michael Ann).
Now to figure out what one does with a “grab it” button!
I plan to share reviews of my favorite children’s books, activities and gift ideas to go with some of those books, maybe even the occasional lesson plan (for kicks). Will be dusting off ideas from the televised reading program “Come Read With Me” I created and hosted for the El Paso Independent School District. Might even share a clip or two from the show. Plan to throw in a few tips about reading with and to the children in your life. And having them read to you.
So I hope you will join me. If only to see if I can really, truly do this. Should be interesting. And hopefully, a little bit of fun, too. Maybe even good for a chuckle. See you soon?
Hugs and kisses,
Sheila @ Sheila's Potpourri

Here we go! One day at a time. So if I put my button on my sidebar, what HTML do I put there? Is it like a widget? Or can you just upload a graphic to the sidebar? Oh, I need help!!! Hope to get a few blog posts written on Sunday to get me a head-start on the week. So glad to be doing this with you.
