Good Monday morning, friends!
Starting off this second week of August with a post that was fun and easy to do. My friend Sheila at Making the Most of Every Day invited her readers to join in for a Q&A series call “TBB Asks” hosted by the gals at The Blended Blog. I thought answering these 23 questions would be fun. And would give you guys a chance to get to know me a little better. So I accepted Sheila’s invite and here we are.
The 23 Questions
The 23 Answers
- Pool, lake or ocean? All three. Why pick when you can have all three and throw in creek, brook and river for the win.
- Camping, cottage or hotel? At this age, probably cottage. Loved camping when I was younger but almost sounds like work now days.
- Favorite ice cream flavor? Rocky Road
- PJ’s, nightgown, T-shirt/shorts or birthday suit? Most often PJs. Poor PC. Occasionally (those Saturday nights once in a blue moon) I will don a nightgown that borders on lingerie.
Pajamas and darling granddaughter
- Favorite summer beverage? Flavored iced tea followed by La Croix water.
- Would you rather be hot or cold? This one is easy and has only one definitive answer. HOT.
- Sandals with heels or flats? Generally flat sandals. Although, I like both.
- Shorts or skirts? Am I skinny or chubby? Chubby me can’t fit into her skirts right now but curiously, my shorts still fit. So shorts. I am chubby right now.
Skirt or shorts?
- Sit in the shade or the sun? Waaaa! Because of years of sitting in the sun (often greased up with Panama Jack or baby oil), I am now sitting in the shade.
- Water, tea or soda? Flavored tea without sugar or water. Soda if we are watching a movie. Beer anytime.
- Fave summer fruit, vegetable. Our very own peaches. So cutie. So juicy and sweet. Also like really good corn on the cob. But it has to be really good.
- Sunrise or sunset? Metaphorically, sunrise. For watching and photographing in real life, sunset.
Sunrise, sunset, swiftly flow the days
- Bike ride or walk? Bike, bike, bike.
- Winery or brewery? Hmmm. If I have to pick or give up my first born, winery. But attending “Cork and Screw” … no, that’s not right… “Cork and Tap” this weekend so I can have both. (Turned out it’s “Tap and Cork”!)
Winery or brewery?
- Garden or no garden? Vegetable, sadly no. Flower, alas, sadly no. Cactus and rock…oh, yeah, baby! Read more here.
- Big summer concert or music in the park? Or music in my head?? Park, please.
Music under the stars at the park
- Fave cookout food. Love brats. And Sarah’s honey shrimp.
- Dine indoors or patio? Patio, unless it is cold…see question 6 or super sunny, see question 9.
- Fave summer destination. Beach. Specifically, Mexican or French beach? But Galveston will do nicely.
Fave summer destination
- Big theme park or local carnival? Local carnival.
- Drinks blended or on the rocks. On the rocks, please.
- Popsicle or Freezie flavor choice. Eww, they hurt my old teeth. But something red or coconut.
- Hot dog or hamburger? Hamburger unless the hot dog is really a bratwurst, see question 17.
That was fun! I love the silly quizzes on Facebook…how many kids will you have? (somehow based on your face/profile photo), what kind of teacher would you be? what’s your nationality? (based on…your face!). And I enjoy doing tests like the Myers-Briggs personality type indicator. How ’bout you?
Your Turn
So here’s your assignment as a follow-up to today’s post. Pick 3 of the 23 questions above to answer for me in a comment below. That way I will get to know you a little better, too! And then be sure to stop by Sheila’s blog and The Blended Blog to see how others answered these same questions.
Hoping to finally share a book review or two this week, and another recipe for “Tasty Tuesday”, and might even open up “My Fashion Haus” to share a recent purchase from Jacket Society. Won’t you stop back by?
Thank you, sweet friends, for hangin’ out with me today. Wishing you a beautiful week.
Hugs and kisses,
Sheila @ Making the Most of Every Day
We have a lot in common: mainly 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 19 but 3, 13, 13, 16, 20 were opposite! These are so fun! Glad you played along!

Thank you for the invite! Makes sense that you would prefer big amusement parks if you prefer large concerts. And that I would prefer a small carnival and music in the park. I have a feeling I am much more the introvert than you!
These questions were a lot of fun. Is this going to be a regular segment on TBB? Hope so. Would love to join in again.
Deena
Thanks for joining in…jealous that you have your own peaches.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Aww, thank you for coming by and for leaving a comment, Deena. That means a lot. This link-up was such fun, and such an easy post to put together. Hope you gals continue this series.
We have had such a struggle trying to keep a peach tree alive! This is our third tree, I think! And it’s second year. Last year it had only one small peach and this year we had more than two dozen. Still not enough to open a winery!! But hoping this one bottle of wine will be a good one.

How fun! I love learning more about people like this. My three questions: Shorts or Skirts…definitely skirts. I think they are more comfortable and flattering to wear. Sitting in sun or shade: depends on the temperature and the season. I love feeling the warm sun on my skin after a long, hard winter. But on a hot day…I’ll choose the shade. Favorite summer beverage: Sweet Ice Tea…preferably raspberry flavor! On a side note: I just sent you an email. My “Grandma & Me” link up is live and I hope you link up with me!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Thank you for letting me know that the Grandma & Me link-up is live. I will have something to link up tomorrow. Can’t wait!!! Maybe we can do something grandma related on a regular basis. I will take any and every opportunity to show off my grandbabies. And your little doll is such a beautiful baby, too!! We are blessed.
You wear skirts so well! I could have guessed that would be your answer. I have GOT to get back into my denim skirts. Have to. Think I will move one to the front of the closet to remind me how miserably tight they are. Ugh.
I like being in the sun over the shade most of the time but my skin is one huge sunspot these days. While I prefer to be warm/hot, I am really starting to worry about the damage I have done from years of sunbathing, swimming and beach time.
I love raspberry tea. Mmmm. My fav. So refreshing.
Thanks for playing along and answering some questions. Thank you for the invite to link-up, too!
Natalie
Fun Q&As, Leslie. Thanks for letting me join in on the fun. You don’t look chubby at all.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
So glad you joined in. Will be heading your way to compare our answers to the 23 questions. This was kind of fun, huh? We could even come up with our own questions for a future post.

Thia ia so fun! I found out in Mexico, that I def. prefer my drinks on the rocks and Brian likes them blended. Maybe that is backwards on how it should be, but oh well! haha! I need to up my pajama game, I think I have one pair I wear every night summer/winter. LOL!

I really need to up my pj game, too. At 59, I feel kind of silly looking at skimpy lingerie that won’t do me any favors!! Or PC for that matter! But I could at least buy a few pretty gowns. And maybe some classy pjs? Maybe we should make that a goal!!
Danielle
Is the flavoured iced tea like sweet tea? Or like Canadian Iced Tea. Hahaha.
I agree beaches in a Mexico are nice (I’ve only been to the Mayan). But the beaches in Varadero, Cuba are Amazing.
Also peaches fresh sound amazing.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Cuba? Wow!!! I bet the beaches there are quiet and more remote. Or maybe not. When we lived in Panama, most of the beaches were pretty secluded and generally visited mostly by Americans. I prefer quiet and remote!!
Flavored tea comes in mango, peach, raspberry, strawberry and lots of other flavors. It can be sweetened and unsweetened (which is slightly sweet naturally). I love any and all of the choices…so refreshing. Makes me thirsty just thinking about it!!
Hope our peach wine turns out good. And if it does, hope our peach trees gives double the fruit next year!

This is a good one—sorry I couldn’t join in, but I’ll accept your challenge:
9. I’m like you–only it was baby oil & iodine. So after some skin cancer bouts, I’m a shade girl
14. Both!!
15. No garden….both my husband and I have black thumbs. We even killed the mint last year. And everyone says you can’t kill mint. I guess we are just talented that way!
XOXO

YOU make me laugh. I killed mint, too. Repeatedly. Everyone I know has mint overtaking their yards. I couldn’t grow the first sprig. Dang it!
Really, why choose between a winery and brewery…both is the right answer!
We probably should have known that laying oiled up in the sun for hours was not a GOOD thing for our skin but heck, everyone was doing it. And everyone can’t be wrong, right? I have had a body scan or examine of my skin only once for skin cancer. Thinking I should probably do it again. How did you discover your skin cancer? So thankful you did find it and got things taken care of.
Thanks for coming by. Maybe we can do a similar link-up in the future!

Sarah’s Honey Shrimp? Oh, that sounds divine! Would, pretty please, love to see a recipe for that one!
And loved the photo of you with your cutie pie granddaughter, though can’t believe you are wearing long flannel PJ’s in summer, which as a woman in her, cough, 50’s, made me immediately break into a sweat. Ha! 🙂
Karla
I had a hard time choosing between some of the choices, too. Loved reading your answers. I joined in the link-up so I won’t answer 3 here. (How’s that for a ploy for getting you over to my blog! Ha.) Happy summer!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
So glad you joined in, too. Heading over now to read your answers. Hey, are you interested in doing the fall bucket list, with our list reveal on 9/21? Would love to have you!!
Jill
Fun prompts! I would rather be hot than cold too and there is nothing better than music in the park! I prefer my drinks on the rocks too!

Great minds!! When I am cold, there is just no warming me up! Are you an introvert or extrovert? I tend to prefer smaller settings because I am more introverted, I think.
Nikki
Well, that was fun reading about you! Your granddaughter is adorable! And I had to LOL at the cork and screw, cork and tap, tap and cork mixup!
3. I eat nothing but chocolate ice cream.
6. Summer is my favorite season. HOT
18. Patio always.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I am enjoying getting to know you.

Oh, so glad to have you come by!! Hope we can continue to get to know each other and do some link-ups together.
