Happy first day of fall!
If you are like me, you’ve been pretending it was fall for several weeks. Despite the heat. But it’s official now…autumn begins TODAY! Hurray! And how apropos that our high temps for today are 20 degrees lower than they were earlier in the week. Break out those sweaters, bring on the boots, tie on those scarves. It’s finally fall.
Today the gals and I are reviewing our summer bucket list progress one last time before putting it to bed for good. Let’s tie up those loose ends first. Then we can get to the 15 activities on my 2018 autumn bucket list. Follow me.
2018 Summer Bucket List, Final Update, 09.2018
Actually, I was in pretty good shape with my summer list at our last look in August, here. There were a couple of things lacking, though.
Buy colorful pots to set out in the rock gardens. Girls, I have driven by several stores that sell them more than once lately. But haven’t stopped to look. Just hate spending money on that right now. With fall coming…I mean, with the arrival of fall…it really isn’t the best time to plant anything in the pots. So, rather than buy the pots now, I am going to bump this to my spring bucket list. Hold me to it, okay?
Take part in dance classes, a 5K or some other physical activity. Guess what? I am running (I hope) a 5K on Saturday but because it is now officially fall (can’t say that enough), that run will count for this season’s bucket list. While PC was out of town, I did swim some and worked out at the gym.
Try 3 new restaurants. Had tried one new restaurant before PC left for North Carolina. While he was gone, I tried another by myself. The pricey Aki Sushi. It was tasty and their wasabi was positively fiery. My fav part was the complimentary seaweed salad.
Overall, I was quite successful, I think, over the summer. Now let’s get to the headliner. The main event.
2018 Autumn Bucket List
I made this list while eating my expen$ive $u$hi after church on Sunday. Then I asked my Prince if there was anything he would like to have me add to ‘our’ 2018 autumn bucket list. The first thing he said was spend time with me! Awww. I have missed my Prince Charming. Then he said get in shape, which we have been working on since we met in 2003!! And he would like to have his son visit over a long weekend this fall.
Here’s the rest of the bucket list.
For my benefit and yours, drew up the list a second time with links to most of the activities. That way I can quickly double-check times and dates for things like the UTEP dinner theater or the schedule for home football games in the picturesque Sun Bowl stadium.

How sweet that your PC wants to spend more time with you! Love that! Your bucket list looks good. Have fun accomplishing all of those wonderful things – they all look like they’d bring a lot of joy and richness to your life!
xo,
Kellyann

Thank you, Kellyann. I think my bucket list this time is very doable. PC usually gets into helping me accomplish the items on my list so I am going to print it off this weekend so we can get busy. He’s suggesting a hike for tomorrow so that will be one item off the list!
Christie Hawkes
Congratulations on your summer success and good luck with the fall list. It sounds like you will have a full, fun fall. Good luck on this weekend’s 5k! Thanks again, Leslie, for overseeing our bucket list link-up! Happy fall!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Christie, thank you for coming by. Will be glad to have you back with us for the winter bucket list post.
I am excited that most of my fall activities are inexpensive and easily doable. I think I’ll come out ok. PC usually gets into helping me accomplish my list and has suggested a hike for this weekend. That will be one activity fulfilled.
Cindi
Looks like you have a full list of things to do this upcoming season.
I’m with you!
I’m looking forward to fall.’And it starts today!
YAY!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
We have slept so soundly the last couple of nights because the evening temps have finally fallen into the 60s and we can open the windows. Fall is really, truly here!!
Gail
I love your enthusiasm for fall! Good luck with the 5k. The last time I did one, I ended up walking some of the way which was v bad. I’m intrigued by “paint rocks” in your new list. I;m pleased to say you’ve inspired me to join the fun and I now have my own list for autumn/fall!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, the 5K was the toughest I have run. The sillies made the second half uphill! With the worst hill at the very end right before the finish line. I had to walk about 3-4 minutes toward the end because I just didn’t have the gumption to start up the last hill. As the finish line came into view I was reenergized The route was also over 3.5 miles. So more than a 5K. Almost a 6K. I slept good that night!!
I am so glad you are doing the fall bucket list with us. I thought your list was an excellent combination of activities for health and pleasure. Can’t wait to follow your progress!
Dara
Your list looks great! I would love to go to that balloon festival!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
My daughter has wanted us to come up for the balloon festival since they moved to Albuquerque. Glad we are going to finally make it happen.
Debs
Good luck with the 5k run! Make sure you take photos of the balloon festival, I would love to see that, we went to one years ago and it was such an interesting day. I like the idea of the style challenges – such a good way to have a good rummage through your wardrobe and see what pieces you already have that you had forgotten about. Looking forward to seeing what new outfits you come up with.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I did it!! I ran the 5K which turned out to be almost a 6K and uphill the whole last half. I was exhausted. Anxious to be with my daughter, she is struggling so right now, and to enjoy the balloon fest together. We will be attending the evening glow so it should be beautiful.
Wish you would try the next style challenge with me. They are 100% satisfaction guaranteed. And gals from all over the world participate. It is such a great way to spruce up your wardrobe. I had a closet full of school clothes but after I retired, it didn’t seem fitting to wear a dress, heels and hose around the house. If you are interested, there will be a winter challenge.
Natalie
Well done with your Summer list, Leslie, and your Autumn list looks great! Good luck with the 5K run. I’d love to go to #8 (hot air balloon fest) and #9 (instant piano class).
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Doesn’t the instant piano class sound fun? I hope my piano lessons come back to me in the first 5-10 minutes so I can enjoy the rest of the lesson and really start playing again. The balloon fest will be at my youngest daughter’s house, the daughter who is struggling right now. I hope our visit will give her something to look forward to and that we can help her over the weekend so she can get some rest.
Carrie @ Curly Crafty Mom
Just love your Fall bucket list, Leslie. Trying 3 new restaurants is something we need to do. Ever since I’ve been doing FASTer Way, I haven’t been doing as much running and I miss my long distance races. I was thinking the other day I should look up some 5K’s and pick one. My Nathan is training for his black belt now and the teacher likes the kids in the program to run, maybe I could do one with him. Watch him be faster than his old mom! HA! 😉

Oh, it would be such fun to run with Nathan! Try a 5K this fall. It will get you into running again without the commitment of a half or full marathon. Training for that, in my estimation is too much like work!!
Throw together a quick 5 activity bucket list and join us!! We will do our first recap on 10.21. I would be so tickled to have you join in.

What a great list, Leslie! My daughter and I LOVE the Guernsey movie, and I hope you do too. We’re HUGE fans of the book, and the movie–whilst slightly different of course–didn’t disappoint! Good luck on the 5K this weekend! Hiking is on my list as well now that it’s not quite as hot out there. And hooray for college football!
Amy
Oh, you’ve got to do the Hot Air Balloon festival in Albuquerque! I’ve seen so many photos of it, and it looks amazing.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
My baby girl has wanted us to come up for balloon fest for a few years. I am so glad we are able to go this year. She is having such a hard time right now and I hope our quick visit and the wonderful distraction of the balloon fest will be a memory-making time for all of us.
Laura
Your Prince Charming sounds like an amazing man! How blessed you are! The hot air balloon festival sounds like something that I would really enjoy and you’re going to LOVE The Gurensey movie on Netflix!! I was so disappointed because I thought it was going to be a series, but it only lasted two hours! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
I have kissed a lot of frogs before finding my prince. Paul is a wonderful man. He is a good, good guy. I can’t wait to watch the Guernsey movie. Think I will suggest we get some movie popcorn from the theater and watch it tomorrow. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they made it into a series. I am excited because some of the new fall TV shows look promising…finally! If I don’t have Bachelor to watch, I am generally not too interested in TV.
Daenel T.
Y’all are too cute! I should put together a bucket list for The Hubs and me. Every weekend, we’re like “What should we do?” Especially now that RV season has ended for us. I also like the idea of going to a restaurant by myself. I haven’t done that in years. Even when I travel alone, I get my food to go and then I either eat in my car or in my hotel room. I must do better.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Daenel, put your bucket list together right now!! And post it. Then when we do an update in October, the 21st to be exact, you can join us. It would be great fun!!! We would LOVE to have you. Just a baby list. Trying new restaurants, going on a walk to explore your new neighborhood, taking a class. There you go!! Please come give it a go!!

I hope your 5k went well! I’m SO happy that it’s Fall – it’s my favorite season. And the weather feels lovely, but it would be great if it would stop raining. LOL I need the nice weather WITHOUT the rain for a bit. lol Great job on all of your summer bucket list items. I hope you are successful with all of your Fall items. I definitely plan to do some Halloween/Fall crafts – I sign up for a lot of them at my local libraries, so it makes it easier to make happen. lol

My mom and brother have said ya’ll have had a lot of rain up that way. Wonder if it was from the hurricane in the Carolinas?
Gold star for you to go to the library craft classes. You make my heart happy. Libraries these days are so much more than books. El Paso has a number of classes for the elderly, which I qualify for…waaaaa….some of them arts and crafts, writing, book clubs all available at the libraries. Need to check them out!!
Audrey
Great list! Lots of fun fall activities inside and out!
I hope you love The Guernsey Literary and PPP Society!! I thought it was such a cute movie. And it complimented the book well!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Love doing the bucket list posts because they truly force us to try doing something new. Otherwise we would have McD’s cheeseburgers every Saturday night and throw in a DVD and call it a weekend. Hoping to watch Guernsey tomorrow night with a bucket of movie popcorn. Glad it compliments the book. Such a good book.
Come do bucket list with us!! You are cordially invited. Make a quick little list. Post it. And then on 10.21 join us for our first progress update. If you are interested, holler back and I can add you to our bucket list email reminder. Thank you for visiting.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Wait!! You did link up with us!!! Yay! Now come back and join us for the update in October. We are also doing a fall soup blog hop. If you’d like to join us, just let me know. XO
