Lovelies, hello!
Today’s post is a quick link-up with the gals at The Blended Blog for another of their “TBB Asks” series. We are talking all about spring. Has it sprung yet in your neck of the enchanted forest? I thought we were well into spring last week and just like that *snap*, we are back to chilly days and cold nights and 45 mph winds. So, where you see references below to temps in the upper 80s, that was before we blinked this week!
Who knows, before this post goes live, spring might be back again. Sure hope so!
14 Questions About All Things Spring: TBB Asks
Wherever you are, no matter the weather, why don’t you grab a refreshing drink – a lemonade, sparkling water, smoothie – pretend it’s spring and join me on the patio for a look at my answers to these questions. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
1. What 3 colors remind you most of spring? Cotton candy, duckling down, and peach fuzz.
2. What is the first thing you’d add to your wardrobe in spring? This spring, I am trying to keep my clothing purchases under control, but have purchased a pair of skinny camos from Loft and a cute pink tee with embroidery on the pocket from Target.
3. What is the first wardrobe item you ditch in spring? Probably sweat pants and socks. You’re welcome, PC.
4. Who mows the grass where you live? PC, my personal yard boy. I would willingly help but he would prefer to do it on his own. Do you think he’s trying to tell me something about my yard work skills?
5. What’s spring like where you live? Spring here is a lot more like summer in other parts of the country. We go from cool to hot. Like Mother Nature flips a switch. Have had 3 close to 90* days this first week of spring. Oh, and wind. Terrible, patio furniture-upending, wind.
6. What’s your favorite thing about spring? When I worked, knowing that the end of the school year was near. Now days, I think it is the hope and rebirth that comes with spring. Everything is new and young again. Even a 60 year-old gabba=grandma.
7. Are you a spring cleaner? Is the Pope Catholic? Check out my top 10 spring cleaning tips and tools, here.
8. Are you a baseball fan? I am since marrying my Prince. Go “50 and over” El Paso Yankees!
9. Tulips or daffodils? We can’t grow either, here, very well. I like the various colors of tulips but the shape of daffodils. But my favorites would be pansies and snapdragons.
10. Favorite outdoor spring activity? Anything outdoors…walking, hiking, bike riding, and once the water warms up, skinny dipping. Kidding, kidding…just checking to see if you were paying attention.
11. Flowers in the ground or in pots? Both, but not many of either. Cactuses, instead.
12. Favorite bird? Probably humming.
13. Car wash or wash vehicles at home? Car wash but not often enough.
14. When do you pull out your sandals? Any minute. Almost wore some flip-flops today.
Well, if it wasn’t warm and sunny when you began this post, is it now? Seems like the weather everywhere has been on a roller coaster lately.
YOUR TURN
How would you answer these questions all about spring? What’s your favorite spring activity? When do you pull out the sandals? Won’t you pick a couple of these questions to answer in a comment below?
If you haven’t checked out my 2018 spring bucket list post, you can read my big plans for the season, right here. We will be sharing updates on our spring bucket lists on 04.21 and 05.21. You make me laugh. So glad you played along by leaving your answers in a comment. When I had dogs, I grumbled about walking them but now I kind of miss that activity. And my pups, too. Trying to push myself to walk more during the day while PC is at work. Used to put my kitties in a stroller. Might have to do that again. Just afraid I will get locked up!!
Yay for ice cream colors and identifying them that way. My father loved homemade ice cream and we would often make homemade peach ice cream. Nothing better!

We only get teased about spring here (just east of Buffalo). Lake Erie keeps us chilly longer….but I am SOOO ready for warm weather!!! I am starting to set out my orange attractions for the orioles (birds, not baseball).
Looking forward to the grass resurrecting (and breaking out MY speedy mower) and leaves on the trees… how I LOVE when spring returns.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Oh, I bet you guys are still practically mid-winter in your world. I was born in a snowstorm in April in Buffalo, so you aren’t out of the woods yet!
We had frost and sleet yesterday in east Texas where I am visiting. Home today and ready to be back in my El Paso sunshine. XO
Andrea Nine
I LOVE your Spring color descriptions and you now have me hungry for cotton candy, a peach Bellini and wearing a yellow dress! Super fun sweet lady, just send me some Spring now, still Winter round these parts!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ha, this whole country seems to be jumping back and forth between winter and spring. Crazy. I was in east Texas yesterday…32* and sleet. Got home to El Paso today, 92* and 40 mph winds. Just nuts.
Mmm, peach Bellini. I’ll drink to that.
Rebecca Jo
You cant go those flowers there? You need to come here – Daffodils are EVERYWHERE – on the sides of the road like wildflowers. It’s always so beautiful. I always want to go in the fields of them & clip them to bring home to put in my vase
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Nope, no luck growing pansies, petunias, daffodils, tulips. Roses do grow well, though. But I would love to be able to have pots of flowers for spring.
While in east Texas this week, I saw Bluebonnets (state flower) growing volunteer all along the roadside. Just gorgeous! But illegal to snip or dig up, so I just enjoyed the from afar.

I always like reading posts like this. You get to know the bloggers you follow so much better! My husband doesn’t like me to cut the grass much either which is fine by me! I think I don’t get the lines straight enough. Oh well!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ha!! I think I take too long to cut the yard. I got back and forth over and over on the same areas trying to make sure I have cut it short enough. You are right, we should just be glad our hubbies will do it.
Gail
Hummingbirds! How amazing. We don’t have those here. Love your spring answers. I pressed ‘publish’ on the wrong post I think (sentence a day) but have my TBB post waiting in the wings!
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Finally home from a week of travels. Catching up on comments on y blog and heading over to read all the blog posts I’ve missed. Will be visiting your ‘house’ soon!
Hummingbirds are amazing little things. I need to refill my feeder so they will come visit now that it is spring. I am not a big fan of other birds but hummingbirds are in class of their own.

I love the words you used to describe your favorite colors! You could be a writer! 🙂 I have never skinny dipped, I need to add that to my bucket list. ha! I didn’t realize you were so limited on what you could plant there, but it seems cactuses are all the rage lately! I’ve even been seeing cactus themed baby rooms! lol! I hope you’re looking forward to warmer temps and getting in that nice pool of yours (which I hope all of the issues are resolved!).

Hey doll!! I have been out of town for a week and just getting back to blog reading. Thank you for your sweet comments.
Lauren, my youngest, has used cactuses in Lucia’s room. She has found the cutest prints on Etsy with desert animals and cactus and succulents. Not really plants you associate with babies but I love how she has used them for our baby girl.
It was 32* yesterday in Dallas yesterday for Brennyn’s shower and 92* here when I got off the plane today. Craziness. So ready to hit the pool. XO

That darn wind in TX in the Spring is just overwhelming. I’ll take the 90 degree days though.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Crazy wind out here tonight. Got home to 92* and 40 mph winds. Good thing I hadn’t spent much (any) time on my hair before my flight! Ha!!
Danielle
What’s your favorite spring activity? Anything that allows me to be outside in the warmth.
When do you pull out the sandals? Ha! Those bad boys have been out all winter. I am wearing them in the snow. I don’t even care how cold it is. Lol.
I love hummingbirds. They are sooo cute. I should put out a feeder for them this year. Maybe we would see more of them.
Leslie Roberts Clingan
Ha!! You and your sandal-wearing all year ’round. Way to keep the spirit of summer alive. You crazy girl!
I have a hummingbird feeder but the wind knocks it about so much that the syrupy stuff doesn’t last long before it has spilled all over the grass. Might need to move it, huh?
